摘要： A training apparatus for training a gluteus maximus muscle. The training apparatus includes a load application device for producing a certain load. A seat section is provided for supporting a body of a trainee. A pivotally operative arm section is provided to receive the load produced by the load application device. A step is provided attached to the arm section, for resting a sole of the trainee thereon. The trainee is able to train the gluteus maximus muscle by repeating extending and bending actions of a leg while lying down on the seat section and resting the sole on the step. In this training apparatus, the step is rotated in linkage with a pivotal operation of the arm section.

摘要： A fixture for supporting a pole in a gymnasium floor comprises a frame on which a pair of hinged lid members are supported. The hinged lid members are each formed with a flat rectangular piece and a piece comprising a semicircular recess and are slidable along tracks so that while the upper surface of the semicircular recessed pieces are flush with the floor the rectangular pieces hang vertically beneath the floor and while the rectangular pieces are flush with the floor the semicircular recessed pieces hang vertically beneath the floor. The semicircular pieces cooperate to define an opening through which the pole can be received and the rectangular pieces cooperative to cover the opening. With this arrangement, no part of the fitting protrudes from the floor so as to pose a hazard.

摘要： A heart pulse rate measuring system comprises a casing, a pair of rod-shaped grip sensors extending outwardly from the opposite sides of the casing for sensing a heart pulse signal, and an electric circuit for calculating a heart pulse rate from the sensed heart pulse signal. Each of the grip sensors is composed of two conductive cylindrical electrodes arranged in an axially aligned relationship and electrically insulated from each other for obtaining a pulse rate utilizing the potentials at four points in a user's body. The electric circuit includes a differential amplifier, having a ground connection to one of the two electrodes of each sensor and two inputs for the remaining electrodes. A filter is used to eliminate noise from the output of the differential amplifier, and a computer calculates the heart rate from the output of the filter. Additionally, an AC-DC converter is connected between the differential amplifier and the computer for providing a DC signal to the computer when an output is provided by the differential amplifier. The computer responds to a predetermined DC level by starting a display indication of heart pulse rate. A timer is provided for use of the system with an exercise device and an alarm is activated at the expiration of the preset exercise time or if pulse rate deviates beyond upper or lower limits preset therefor. A printer provides a printout of time and/or pulse rate at predetermined time intervals.

摘要： A small portable-type apparatus for checking pulse or heart rate of a person engaged in exercise. Therefore, the apparatus according to the present invention can be used as a pulsimeter or a cardiometer according to the state of a person in motion. The apparatus is provided with a heart sensor having a plurality of cone-shaped conductive rubber electrodes to differentially detect an electrocardiowave voltage signal generated from three different places near the heart and a pulse sensor having a matching infrared-ray emitting diode and infrared-ray receiving phototransistor to detect the light reflected from the blood flowing through capillary vessels under the finger pad. The apparatus additionally functions as a stopwatch or a timer as selected by a mode-selector switch.

摘要： An arrangement for fastening an upstanding post in a floorboard for use in indoor sports comprises a hollow cylindrical support into which the post loosely fits, having an opening provided in the circumferential wall thereof, the cylindrical support being embedded below the floorboard, a guide box which covers the opening in the cylindrical support, a headed screw rod rotatably supported in a vertical fashion in the guide box, a first wedge member screw-threadedly receiving the screw rod so that it may move upwards or downwards, a second wedge member received in the opening of the guide box so that it may move in the radial direction of the cylindrical support in accordance with the movement of the first wedge, a hole provided through the floorboard aligned in a vertical plane with the screw rod.When a tool for turning the screw rod is inserted through the hole and rotated, the rotation of the screw rod in accordance with continuous rotation of the tool in a horizontal plane causes the first wedge member to move upwards or downwards, and thereby the second wedge member moves in the radial direction of the cylindrical member to securely fasten the post within the cylindrical support.
