The first power is greater than the second power, and each of the first illuminant device and the second illuminant device is configured to selectively scan a document. The scanner is configured to select one of the first illuminant device and the second illuminant device based, at least in part on, a level of power supplied to the scanner via a power source, and perform a single scan of the document using only the selected one of the first illuminant device and the second illuminant device.

    摘要: A method and user interface is provided for use on a computer system coupled with a scanner for performing an automatic scan operation on an original document, with the computer system running a scanner driver and an application program. By the method and user interface, the scanner is first activated to perform a primitive scan operation on the original document based on the default image processing settings to thereby obtain a primitive scanned image. Next, the scanner driver is activated to perform a set of image processing routines on the primitive scanned image to thereby obtain the image qualities of the original document; and based on the image qualities of the original document, a set of suited image processing settings are specified for optimal scan of the original document. The suited image processing settings are then used to replace the default image processing settings, and the scanner is again activated to perform a final scan operation on the original document based on the suited image processing settings to thereby obtain a final scanned image which is transferred to the application program for use by the application program.

The paper-separating plate placed around a side of the paper-separating roller comprises a main body and a cushion. The main body has a surface and a plurality of grooves and the grooves are positioned on the surface. The cushion is positioned on the surface of the main body and covers the grooves. The cushion positioned over the partial grooves is elastically pressed onto the paper-separating roller. The grooves are linear and the direction of extending the linear grooves is substantially parallel with the axis of the paper-separating roller, the linear grooves neighboring one another or each other. Besides, the cushion is made of flexible material and the main body is made of rigid material.

    摘要: A scanning chassis is suited for scanning a document. The scanning chassis includes a case, a light source, at least one reflector, a lens assembly and an optical sensor. The case has a light transparent slot shaped like a bar form, wherein the widths corresponding to the points along the longitudinal direction of the light transparent slot are not all the same. The light source can illuminate the document and an image can be generated at the place where the document is illuminated by the light source. The image can be projected on the reflector through the light transparent slot. The image can be projected on the lens assembly by the reflector's reflecting the image. The image can be projected on the optical sensor after the image passes through the lens assembly.

    摘要: A height adjustment structure for an image-scanning device. The scanning device has a guiding rod, an optical system and a document panel. The guiding rod and the document panel are fixed relative to each other. The optical system includes a box body and an axial rod bearer that can slide along into the guiding rod. The height adjustment structure includes a first positioning section and a second positioning section. The first positioning section is attached to one side of the box body and the second positioning section is attached to one side the axial rod bearer that faces the first positioning section. The first positioning section and the second positioning section has hooking mechanism, screwing mechanism or teeth-meshing mechanism for fixing the box body relative to the axial rod bearer and hence setting the distance from the box body to the document panel.

    摘要: A luminous apparatus capable of adjusting the luminance is equipped in a scanner. Before mounting the luminous apparatus in the scanner, a detective device is used for detecting luminance generated from the luminous apparatus. The luminous apparatus contains the electroluminescent elements, the branching levers, and the main lever. One end of each electroluminescent element is pivoted by a pivot while the other end is connected to one branching lever correspondingly. The main lever is connected to those branching levers. When the main lever is moved by an external force, the branching levers are moved and the electroluminescent elements synchronous rotate around their own pivots. Additionally, the positions of the main lever and the electroluminescent elements are fixed when a uniform luminance is detected.

The method comprises steps of scanning an original comprising an object, identifying the original to establish a location and a profile of the object in the original, displaying a preview window corresponding to the original, wherein a location and a profile of a confined area is exactly the location and the profile of the object, receiving a framed area selected from the preview window by user, wherein a portion of the framed area beyond the confined area is automatically removed to generate a scan area, and scanning the scan area. The present invention can also extend to a method for selecting a scan area by a user and a scanner with a feature of automatically identifying a scan area.
