摘要： Apparatus is described by means of which sheet metal strip, unwound from a coil construct having a vertical axis of rotation, is fed to a strip processing station at regulated rates. The feed rate control mechanism is particularly adapted to accommodate strip that is twisted prior to exiting the apparatus to enable it to enter the strip processing station in a generally surface-horizontal attitude. The apparatus is arranged to occupy a minimum amount of floor space.

摘要： A connector for affixing the top rail of a wire fabric fence to the fence posts thereof is described. The connector consists of a resilient metallic strip fabricated into a loop portion from which depend leg portions which extend inward, substantially parallel, then outward. When inserted into a fence post the connector legs enter into yielding frictional engagement with the inner walls thereof, said engagement being enhanced by the engagement of said parallel portions with one another thereby increasing the resiliency of the connector.

摘要： In a method of removing carbonyl sulfide from propylene by hydrolysis over a catalyst comprising platinum sulfide on alumina, the improvement comprising regenerating the catalyst by contacting the catalyst with a solvent for polypropylene under conditions such that any polypropylene on the catalyst will be readily dissolved. Specifically, the propylene is passed through, successively, a C.sub.3 -splitter, a heater, the platinum sulfide catalyst bed, and a topping still where resulting H.sub.2 S and CO.sub.2 are separated from the purified propylene. A preferred solvent is liquid propylene.

摘要： This invention relates to an improvement in control apparatus which prevents formation of smoke in a combustion process. The conventional control includes apparatus for first providing the proper flow of either air or fuel to the process to satisfy the required demand for heat. A ratio device is then used to determine the flow of the remaining component necessary for obtaining proper combustion conditions. Where the BTU content of the fuel is likely to vary, a device for analyzing stack gases, typically an oxygen probe is then used to provide a signal to adjust the ratio device based on conditions indicated by the stack gases. The improvement of this invention includes a device for determining when the proportion of the exhaust gas component is outside limitations indicating smoking may occur and an emergency control device actuated when such conditions exist for rapidly adjusting the proportions of fuel and air supplied to the process in order to prevent smoking.
