Abstract: An industrial textile has a double warp. Yarns (111, 112) of a first warp and yarns (131, 132, 133, 134) of a weft are bonded to each other according to a first predetermined pattern, and yarns (121, 122) of a second warp and the yarns (131, 132, 133, 134) of the weft are bonded to each other according to a second predetermined pattern. The first predetermined pattern and the second predetermined pattern form a textile structure, which includes the yarns (131, 132) of the weft on a first level (L1) and the yarns (133, 134) of the weft on a second level (L2). The yarns of the weft having smaller diameter are configured to alternate with yarns of the weft having a larger diameter on the first level (L1).

Abstract: A method for forming a multi-ply fiber web in which least part of the sizing of the multi-ply fiber web is provided by applying sizing agent in the form of foam by a curtain type application device (C10, C20) in between at least two layers of the multi-ply fiber web in the forming section. The invention also relates to a forming section for a multi-ply fiber web having at least one twin-wire forming part formed between a wire (10) for the bottom layer and a wire (20) for the top layer of the multi-ply fiber web, where the layers are joined, and the treated layers combined. The forming section has a curtain type application device (C10, C20) for applying sizing agent in the form of foam in between two layers of the multi-ply fiber web in the forming section of a multi-ply fiber web production line.

Abstract: A disc chipper has thick double-edged chipper blades clamped in rectangular pockets between a knife segment and a knife clamp which are connected to a chipper disc. The blades are precisely positioned for cutting by knife stops selected from a set of knife stops of incremental modular widths. A different width knife stop is used to position the chipper knife blades each time it is sharpened. After each sharpening the knife blade has a selected width which is smaller by a constant incremental value, and it is assembled with a mating knife stop from the set so that the blade edge position remains unchanged.

Abstract: To minimize the cost of a fiber web due to the web, particularly a board web, being manufactured overly thick to compensate for loss of caliper in the reel-up, the web is made thicker just for the inner layers of what will become a parent roll. The caliper of the web is measured as or after it is unwound. A caliper curve of the parent roll as a function of the diameter of the parent roll is calculated as a function of the diameter of the parent roll and/or the customer roll. The fiber web is adjusted by changing running parameters of the production line: web speed i.e. production speed, headbox-flow, head-box consistency, coating weight of the coating paste or calender nip load.

Abstract: Partial webs are separated in a slitter-winder. The partial webs (WP) are separated by spreading in a spreading device having at least a first, bowed spreader roll (14) fitted at one side of the partial webs (WP) and a second, bowed spreader roll (15) fitted at the opposite side of the partial webs.
