    摘要： A centering device for a plate-shaped workpiece comprises: a table (21) having a conveyor mechanism (23) for conveying a plate-shaped workpiece (10) in the horizontal direction; a camera (56) for taking an image of the plate-shaped workpiece (10) placed on the table (21); a table movement mechanism (28) for moving the table (21) horizontally in the direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction; a table rotation mechanism (60) for rotating the table (21) about a vertical axis; a computation unit (58) for comparing target central position information and information acquired by the camera (56) and computing the movement amount of the conveyor mechanism (23), the movement amount of the table movement mechanism (28), and the movement amount of the table rotation mechanism (60); and a control unit (59) for controlling the conveyor mechanism (23), the table movement mechanism (28), and the table rotation mechanism (60) on the basis of the movement amounts calculated by the computation unit (58).

    摘要： An item handling system includes a vacuum source, a transport element defining a plurality of vacuum openings in fluid communication with the vacuum source to create a securing force on an item proximate to the transport element for holding the item in contact with the transport element, and a drive element for driving the transport element to transport the item. The transport element further defines a plurality of sensor openings arranged in two substantially parallel arrays along a longitudinal direction of the transport element. The system further includes a sensor associated with each array of sensor openings for sensing energy passing through the sensor openings to thereby sense the item on the transport element. Each sensor is disposed at a common longitudinal position relative to the transport element. Sensing the item corresponds to a condition where the sensor associated with each array is blocked.

    摘要： The position of sheets in a printing press is measured. A problem in transporting sheets through the printing press is how to guarantee the correct orientation and lay of the sheets, which must be guaranteed particularly in the printing operation. There is provided a device for precisely determining and correcting the positions of sheets in printing presses. Margin regions of a sheet are respectively imaged, projection data are transmitted to a computing unit, and the position of the sheet is calculated with the aid of the projection data by way of an image recognition algorithm. Furthermore, the computed positions of the sheet are compared to positions which are stored in the computing unit, and from the comparison, position deviations are computed, which are transmitted to the printing press and corrected by way of a sheet registration device.
