    摘要: A lamp reflector assembly (10) includes a lamp reflector (100) and circuit board holder plate (300). The lamp reflector (100) and the circuit board holder plate (300) each include guide ribs (115, 315) to hold a lamp circuit board (200) in place in the reflector assembly (10). The board holder plate (300) provides X, Y, Z location of the circuit board (200) as well as visual position verification of the circuit board (200) held in the reflector assembly (10). Finger tabs (210) protruding from the circuit board (200) through slots (320) in the board holder plate (300) permit repositioning the circuit board (200) so that the lamp circuit board (200), the board holder plate (300), and the lamp reflector (100) are properly positioned relative to each other prior to securing the board holder plate (300) to the reflector (100).

    摘要: An exterior automotive lamp may be formed with LED light sources by efficiently using the available light. The LEDs are arranged in an array to illuminate a central lens to produce the horizontal spread from the central portion of the LED beam. Meanwhile a reflector gathers the more disperse side-emitted portion of the LED beam and directs that light as an outer sheath to form a supplementary portion of the beam. The lamp efficiently provides a beam that may be adapted for highbeam, lowbeam, fog, or signal purposes.

    摘要: A lamp assembly with a thin actual dimension providing an image of greater apparent depth may be formed from a light source, reflector and a partially reflective and partially transmissive lens. The mirrored surface is oriented axially to face a field to be illuminated. A partially light reflective and partially light transmissive lens having a first surface faces the reflector. The lens is offset from the mirrored surface, thereby defining a cavity intermediate the reflector and the lens. The mirrored surface and the first surface of the lens are smoothly bowed with respect of one to the other. At least one LED (light emitting diode) light source capable of emitting visible light, is positioned near the cavity and oriented to direct light into the cavity intermediate the reflector and the lens. Because of the bowing, the multiple reflected images are offset inducing an optical illusion of depth.

The lens cover (26) is freely rotatable about the central axis (20) to allow for variable positioning.

    摘要: An optical element for use in a high mounted stop lamp is formed with an LED light source mounted on a backing plate. The LED faces in a first direction to emit light towards a field to be illuminated. A light transmissive dome encloses the LED light source, the dome having refractive elements directing at least some light emitted by the LED in a second direction transverse to the first direction. At least one light guide is positioned adjacent the dome to receive light emitted by the LED that is refracted transversely by the refractive dome elements. The light guide includes light directing elements to redirect the transversely directed light towards the field to be illuminated. In this way the ineffectively directed light is recaptured and directed expand the lamp's area image to comply with legal requirements.

    摘要: An automotive headlamp shield may be formed with a self-locating mount. The housing contains a mounting receptacle with three closed sides, an open side, a substantially solid bottom with a laterally extending slot and a top containing an opening. One sub-assembly has a planar surface with an aperture, a solid rear wall and a depending side wall. When assembled, the depending sidewall fits into the slot and protrudes therefrom. Another sub-assembly has an upper surface and four walls including a front wall, a back wall and two sides. A compressible planar latch is associated with the upper surface and a first spring is associated with a side and a second spring is associated with the back. The second sub-assembly is hollow and the springs and the compressible latch are formed from the upper surface and respective sides. The structure is light weight and easy to manipulate.
