摘要： An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for managing remote media ownership, where the media involve physical media units (PMUs). The system includes a physical media storage facility that stores the PMUs, and a PMU transfer facility that receives PMUs from users and delivers PMUs to users. The system includes a controller that reads an ownership database to determine the PMUs owned by a user. The controller accepts a username and password to authenticate a user, and allows the user to access the content of the PMUs owned by the user upon authentication. The controller may further allow the user to buy PMUs, to sell owned PMUs, and to request delivery of owned PMUs once the user is authenticated.

摘要： A method and system for collaboratively curating video maps used for filtering audio, visual, or audiovisual content, such as a movie. One or more video taggers may tag segments of a movie containing filterable content, such as swearing, nudity, sex, violence, etc. A tag for a segment containing filterable content may comprise a start time, an end time, and a reference to one or more categories of filterable content, e.g., swearing, nudity, sex, etc. A video reviewer may review the quality of a tagger's work, and may add, delete, or edit tags, and may also send the video back to the tagger for further work. A video publisher may further review the tagger's and the reviewer's work and add, delete, or edit tags; send the video back to the reviewer or tagger for further work; or publish the tags as a “video map” which may be used with a user filter (or user preferences) to filter a movie. A user's preferences may indicate which categories of content the user wishes to remove from a movie, e.g., nudity and violence, and which categories the user wishes to keep in the movie, e.g., swearing. A user may then view the movie, filtered, based on his preferences and the video map. The user may provide feedback or a rating on the quality of the video map, which may be used for further tagging by a tagger, reviewer, or publisher. The preparation of a video map through tagging, reviewing, publishing, and user-reviewing may be iterative.

摘要： A method and system for filtering content streamed over HLS and other streaming technologies are disclosed. A Streaming Filtering Solution may generate a content map for a movie or other content, identifying filterable elements associated with vulgarity, sex/nudity, violence, etc. A filterable element may identify a category and subcategory of content (e.g., “vulgarity”: “f---” word), a begin time and end time, and other characteristics. The Streaming Filtering Solution may generate media segment files based on the filterable elements. The Streaming Filtering Solution may obtain a filter with categories and sub-categories of content to exclude or retain when the content is played. When content is requested, the Streaming Filtering Solution may apply the filter to the media segment files to determine that some media segment files should be dynamically generated based on the filter. The Streaming Filtering Solution may dynamically generate one or more filtered media segment files and provide those files to a requester. Depending on the filter, and the characteristics of a particular filterable element, a filtered media segment file may have fully or partially muted audio, or may have fully or partially cropped video, or may be entirely omitted, or may have other filtering effects applied.
