Abstract: A bale accumulator for grouping bales for group baling includes a platform, a depositor mounted adjacent to the platform for sequentially depositing bale sets onto the platform, each bale set when deposited onto the platform comprises a pair of bales positioned upright and side-by-side in a packing orientation so that their corresponding long sides are axially juxtaposed, and a packer apparatus mounted adjacent to the platform for packing one bale set at a time from the platform into a group baler trailing the platform each time a bale set is deposited onto the platform from the depositor without changing the packing orientation of the bales of each bale set.

Abstract: There is disclosed a feeding device (10) for dispensing bales of material from a vehicle. The feeding device (10) includes a body (12) having a surface for receiving a plurality of said bales thereon. The surface has a first end (12a) and a second end (12b) and is configured such that the plurality of bales are arranged in at least one row extending at least partially between the first and second ends (12a, 12b). A pusher (18) is slidably mounted to the surface and moveable between a first position proximal the first end (12a) and a second position proximal the second end (12b). A driving mechanism is provided and is controllable to move the pusher (18) between the first and second positions. Such movement of the pusher (18) from the first position to the second position applies a pushing force to the bales arranged in at least one row such that the bales in that row are progressively dispensed from said second end (12b) of the surface.

Abstract: A tow vehicle (3) and trailer vehicle (5) are connected by a four-bar hitch which has one arm (1) aligned longitudinally with the central longitudinal axes (12,13) of the vehicles, and a steering arm (6) which is laterally spaced from the main arm. Pivots, (7,8) at the front and rear ends of the steering arm are forwardly offset with respect to the corresponding pivots (2,4') of the main arm. The length of the main arm is no greater then about 1.5 times the length of the steering arm. The rear pivot (8) of the steering arm is offset laterally and forwardly from the rear pivot (4') of the main arm, so that the lateral offset is greater than the forward offset. An embodiment is disclosed wherein the forward pivot on the steering arm is laterally shiftable toward the forward pivot on the main arm to reduce the offtracking of the trailer for certain maneuvering and driving situations. In one embodiment, an upper arm (30) is disposed above and in forwardly convergent relation with respect to the main arm (1) in order to provide a vertical four-bar linkage which allows the tow vehicle to pitch naturally.

Abstract: A hydraulically actuated endgate is presented which places a panel directly in front of the beaters of a manure spreader. The endgate retains all of the manure within the spreader box until the spreading site is reached. The panel is hinged mounted along its top edge to a generally U-shaped structural member. The central portion of the U-shaped member spans the box just in front of the beater. The legs of the U-shaped member are of equal length and extend forward along the sides of the spreader. The very ends are pivotally attached to the box, one on the left, the other on the right. A hydraulic piston attached to an arm secured to one of the pivot points makes it possible to move the structural member upward through an arc of about 100 degrees, then back down to the rest position.

Abstract: A self-loading feed mixer and transport wagon is provided which is capable of grinding and loading a stack of livestock feed material into the wagon, thoroughly mixing the feed material together, and transporting the feed material to a desired location where it is dispensed from the wagon. The wagon includes a feed loading mechanism having a set of pulverizing chains for grinding the feed material and a blower unit for loading the material into a feed compartment. A rotatable conveyor mechanism located in the feed compartment includes a set of feed engaging paddles oriented diagonally and resiliently mounted on the conveyor shaft for advancing the feed material. One or more mixing augers are provided in the feed compartment for agitating and mixing the feed material in its advance toward a discharge area to produce a uniform feed ration. A discharge elevator is provided to dispense the mixed feed material from the wagon.

Abstract: A portable tiltable platform includes a trough extending to the peripheral edge for communication with hay being transported to it from a rake pickup which feeds it to an auger and in turn to a compressing roller and then into the inlet end of the trough at the peripheral edge of the platform when the platform is in the horizontal transport position. The trough includes a longitudinally extending side wall and a bottom wall which extends laterally to merge with the platform top surface. The bottom wall merges at its forward inner end with a portion extending upwardly to merge with the platform surface. A portion of the platform surface extends over the vertical wall of the trough and over reciprocating out of phase feed teeth in the bottom wall and vertical wall of the trough. An annular frame extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. A plurality of posts are provided which have compression arms extending to the center of the platform which receives hay from the outlet end of the trough. The pressure arms moving arcuately engage the hay to sweep it along the platform top surface causing a stack to form from the bottom up. The compression arms decrease their pressure on the hay as the arms move upwardly while the total pressure remains substantially constant since the hay increases in weight as it increases in height. The unloading of the platform is accomplished by opening gate sections forming the cage around the stack and tipping the platform rearwardly and downwardly followed by operation of a push-off member which moves from the forward end to the rearward end of the platform.
