Abstract: A weed barrier removal assembly facilitates removal of weed barrier material. The assembly includes a mounting plate configured for coupling to a motorized vehicle. First and second arms are coupled to and extend from the mounting plate in spaced relationship to each other. A first coupler is rotatably coupled to the first arm and a second coupler is rotatably coupled to the second arm. The first and second couplers are configured for coupling to an elongated member wherein the elongated member extends between the first and second arms. Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for assisting in installation of a fence covering an area, for example, a garden. The apparatus includes a box and a sheet material housed in the box. The box further includes an opening such that the opening facilitates the sheet material to be withdrawn out of the box. The sheet material includes plurality of equidistant markings disposed along a longitudinal axis of the sheet material. The plurality of equidistant markings serves as indicators for equidistant placement of a plurality of posts of the fence, thereby assisting in correct installation of the fence. In one embodiment, the sheet material includes a biodegradable material. In another embodiment, the sheet material includes a weed-controlling agent.

Abstract: An erosion control blanket dispensing method and apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus preferably includes, a rotary drive secured to a mounting plate, and a blanket spindle secured to the rotary drive. In a preferred embodiment, the rotary drive controls an angular position of the blanket spindle relative to the mounting plate. A method of assembling the apparatus preferably includes at least the steps of providing a mounting plate, attaching a hydraulic rotary actuator to the mounting plate, securing a spindle support structure to the hydraulic rotary actuator, and affixing a blanket spindle to the spindle support structure.

Abstract: A machine that quickly lays a cover over a freshly seeded area and at the same time anchors the cover to the ground. The cover helps prevent moisture from escaping from the ground and holds the seeds in place during watering the area, during heavy rains and/or during wind storms. The ground cover is a blanket in the form of a ribbon of considerable length that is rolled onto a spindle and may consist of straw or the like or the equivalent thereof retained between a pair of porous sheet, mesh or netting members or suitably attached or adhering to single sheet of the same and which preferably is biodegradable. The ribbon is payed out from the spindle as the machine traverses the area to be covered. Apparatus on the machine anchors the laid in place ribbon to the ground as it is placed on the ground by driving pins through the ribbon into the ground and/or by forming and pressing a “V” shape formation in the ribbon an adjustably variable selected depth into the ground.

Abstract: A gardening aid in the form of a nylon pruning cloth which has a split down its center and terminates at a central circular section. A pouch is sewn on one side of the cloth to collect pruned clippings. The pruning cloth fits around the base of a shrub or tree and catches the clippings as they fall. When the pruned specimen is completely trimmed, any of the clippings which have not fallen from the specimen onto the pruning cloth may be swept thereupon and towed away for easy and clean removal from a particular work site.

Abstract: A technique and mixture for increasing water and agricultural chemical retention in an agricultural field's water absorbent polymers are applied to the land's surface and are then blended into the top six inches of the soil. The polymers, are of such small size that in a dry state, they fit into voids between grains in the soil. As the polymer retains water and swells, the swollen polymer seals these voids and creates a barrier preventing water and fertilizer from passing through and being lost to the crop. The preferred size of the polymer is less than 3 mm.

Abstract: An implement for handling flexible or collapsible multi ply polyethylene tubing comprising a rigid frame adapted to be secured to a tow vehicle, a powered spool rotatably secured to the frame to receive poly-pipe and an interchangeable retrieval subframe and plow. The frame has a front cross piece, a rigid side rail and a swinging side rail. The spool is mounted between the distal ends of the side rails. A mount on the front cross piece receives the retrieval subframe or plow. The subframe flattens and shapes the poly-pipe for spooling. The subframe comprises a base with arms extending from it. Tension bars extend from one arm to the other. Also, a pair of crossed diagonal cleaning members extend between the arms. The poly-pipe is drawn over the bars and between the cleaning members to flatten and clean the poly-pipe for convenient winding about the spool. The swinging frame rail is swung out to remove or place poly-pipe on the spool. A pillar extends from the base of the subframe to mate with the mount on the front cross piece. A similar pillar extends upward from the plow. To place poly-pipe the plow is used to cut a shallow furrow into which the poly-pipe is laid.

Abstract: An improvement in machines for laying agricultural plastic film is disclosed which provides means forcing the plastic film against the seed bed and inclined sides and bottom of oppositely situated furrows utilizing a forced air fan to blow air downwardly upon the plastic film to secure it in place against disturbing forces, such as winds, in order that the longitudinal side edges of the plastic sheet may be properly covered with a layer of soil thrown up by rearwardly located covering discs. In an alternate embodiment, a fluid, such as air or water, is forcibly directed against the plastic film overlying the inclined side and bottom of the oppositely situated furrows to hold the film in place for covering by soil thrown up by the covering discs.
