    摘要: A fully automated irrigation system to irrigate regular and irregular shapes of land. The system includes a water delivery pipe assembly configured to travel linearly while irrigating adjacent to a stationary row of water main spaced access valves. The system includes an automated connector configured to supply water from the access valves to the water delivery pipe assembly. The connector includes a swing arm, a compensator, a valve coupler, a lift and a swinger. The swing arm facilitates positioning a coupler body above a next-up access valve and facilitates positioning the delivery pipe assembly. The compensator compensates for distance change between a coupled-to access valve and the delivery pipe assembly when the assembly travels. A coupler body resides at an outer end of the swing arm. The lift raises and lowers the swing arm to couple and uncouple respectively the coupler body along the row of access valves. The lift also holds the swing arm above the ground while the swinger swings the swing arm proximate to the next-up access valve for subsequent coupling the coupler body thereto.

    摘要: A water supply system is described for supplying water to a linearly moving irrigation system. The water supply system is able to take water from a stationary water supply conduit (either a collapsible conduit or a rigid conduit) and feed it into one end of a feed pipe for the irrigation system. The water supply system includes a pickup shoe which extends into the water supply conduit through a traveling opening in the top side of the conduit. The pickup shoe intercepts substantially all of the water in the supply conduit and pumps it upwardly through the traveling opening to the feed pipe for the irrigation system. The pump is located in the portion of the shoe which extends into the supply conduit.

    摘要: A linear water feed apparatus for use in agricultural irrigation includes a linear-move machine with a mobile truss assembly supporting a plurality of individual sprinklers and adapted for movement in a specified direction across a field to be irrigated. The truss assembly is oriented transverse to the specified direction, and a supply pipe is arranged in the specified direction along or within the field to be irrigated. The supply pipe mounts a plurality of water supply hydrants at spaced locations along the pipe, each of the hydrants enclosing a water supply valve. A docking station is supported at one end of the truss assembly closest to the supply pipe, and is adapted to engage and open successive ones of the water supply valves in the plurality of hydrants. The docking station assembly includes a docking station that is suspended from a frame for floating movement about at least three mutually perpendicular axes.

    摘要: A land irrigation system is illustrated in which an elongated sprinkler line continuously travels in a direction transverse to its length along the length dimension of a stationary water main and is continuously supplied with water from upstanding hydrants spaced along the length of the water main. A driven tractor moves along the water main at substantially the same rate as the sprinkler line and a plurality of elongated water carrying pipe connector devices each have one end portion connected to the sprinkler line and their other end portion movable into position for automatic connection to and disconnection from successive hydrants along the water main, to permit substantially continuous movement of the trctor along the water main and movement of the respective water carrying connector pipe devices into position for connection to the hydrants. An improved I-shaped track provides free roller movement of the end portion of the respective water carrying connector pipes which is connected to the sprinkler line.

    摘要: An overhead irrigation system and a method of controlling it whereby a main irrigation pipe, supported on towers, is moved laterally across a field. The towers at the extremities of the pipe are independently driven while the remaining towers move in response to misalignment between pipe segments caused by the motion of the outside towers. Proper overall direction of the system is maintained by a path sensor which detects deviation from the designated path and corrects it by slowing down the tower at the end toward which the correction is required, thereby causing the entire unit to pivot about a point on or beyond and in line with the end of the unit. Two-way misalignment sensors are capable of propagating a path correction signal along the entire length of the unit and in either direction. An engine, generator and pump are mounted in a sling support hung from the pipe.
