摘要： A flame resistant protective head shield includes a hollow body having a neck receptacle to facilitate the body being positioned around a neck of a wearer. The body has an exterior surface and an interior surface. The interior surface defines an interior cavity. An opening is provided in the exterior surface in communication with the interior cavity. A flexible flame resistant substrate is provided having a secured end and a free end. The secured end is secured to the body. The substrate is movable between a stored position within interior cavity and a deployed position in which the free end of the substrate extends through the opening and upwardly to cover a head of the wearer. A pressurized gas powered actuator is provided to move the substrate in a fraction of a second from the stored position to the deployed position. A sensor is provided for detecting a flash fire coupled to the actuator. Deployment of the substrate by the actuator is triggered by the sensor sensing a flash fire.

摘要： A transformable garment that folds and envelops the wearer with a garment body with panels that use origami folding and shape memory alloy (SMA) elements to assist to transform the garment from an expanded state to a retracted state is provided. Garment designs with transformable panels and sleeves can benefit those who have trouble dressing by allowing the garment to wrap around and fit the wearer without outside help. These types of clothes are expected to be beneficial for people with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and also for populations with other body movement disorders and elderly people.

摘要： A filter mask for filtering air inhaled and exhaled from the mouth and nostrils while providing a secure fit and comfort to the wearer is provided. The filter mask has upper and lower edges which are provided with at least one malleable stiffener for conforming to the shape of the wearer's nose and cheek area and/or the lower jaw and chin area. In some embodiments, the filter masks further comprises a malleable stiffening member configured to conform the filter material to at least a chin portion and a jaw portion of the face. In some embodiments, the malleable stiffener can have a bend portion, which allows the wearer of the mask to know which part, center and side of the mask is to be properly placed on the nose and cheek area. The masks provide excellent filtration and provide a secure and comfortable fit to the wearer.
