摘要： The invention relates to a mounting device for a drum (2) consisting of at least two joined drum segments (21, 22) as a part of a shaft (1) of a brush roller, said mounting device including an internal circumferentially directed shoulder (24) being a part of a first drum segment (21) and an external circumferentially directed shoulder (23) being a part of a second drum segment (22), said two shoulders (23, 24) are provided with cooperating contact surfaces mainly positioned in a circumferential or tangential direction with respect to a complete drum (2), the external shoulder (23) being provided with a radial directed clearance hole intended to involve a screw (30), the threaded end of which being directed into the geometrical rotation axis of a complete drum, whereby the interior circumferentially directed shoulder (24) is provided with a recess (26) having a bottom (25) and an opening (27) facing the geometrical rotation axis and the recess (26) is designed with plain inner side surfaces (42, 43) facing each other and being parallel and axial with respect to the drum, and the recess (26) is equipped with projections (28) tangentially and circumferentially originating from each one of said side surfaces and pointing to each other. Furthermore the invention relates to a drum segment, a drum, and a brush roller with such a mounting device.

摘要： Embodiments of a tool and method for removing sweeper bristles from a railway track broom are disclosed. An exemplary tool may include a tube member for insertion into a sweeper bristle gripped onto a nipple element, wherein two or more slits split a front portion of the tube member into flexible prongs each having outward-facing gripping elements near its tip. A plunger element, located inside the tube member, can be propelled forward into a front end of the tube member to cause the flexible prongs to substantially expand at least part of the front portion of the tube member, thereby loosening the sweeper bristle's grip on the nipple element. A hydraulic assembly coupling the plunger element to a hydraulic pressure source is controlled by a trigger mechanism to supply hydraulic pressure to propel the plunger element.

摘要： A broom having a handle with a threaded end and a broom head connected to the handle which includes a generally cylindrical sleeve made of plastic having a first end which defines an open surface extending axially therethrough and a second end which defines a forward threaded open surface partially extending axially through the second end in communication with the open surface of the first end and further defines an open keyed surface of a predetermined configuration axially extending from the forward threaded open surface through a remainder of the second end, wherein the open surfaces of the first end and forward threaded open surface are configured to receive the threaded end of the handle and wherein the sleeve is employed in a method for winding a broom head which includes mating the sleeve to a shaft having a portion of an outer diameter of a size to be received within the open surface of the first end and a keyed end portion of an outer configuration to be complimentary received within the keyed surface, disposing broom corn or grass about the sleeve, securing an end from a winding wire through the broom corn to the sleeve, rotating the shaft such that the winding wire wraps about the broom corn in a manner to secure the broom corn to the sleeve and connecting another end of the wire to the sleeve.

摘要： A vertical axis brush for use with a rotary floor maintenance apparatus is disclosed. The brush includes a holder plate having an integral peripherally extending and depending skirt to which are detachably secured a plurality of brush segments. Each brush segment is generally U-shaped in plan and is held to the holder plate by a pair of opposed clamps which define a channel. The clamps are integral with the plate and radially receive the brush members in a detachable snap fit fashion. When mounted, each of the brush members is engaged by the clamps and also engaged by the depending skirt of the holder plate.

The dust from the street is directed against a damp cloth by means of a rotating brush; the cloth is a partially permeable water sack on which the dust collects in scale-like masses. The scales fall from the sack and are thrown by brushes into a receiving means. The machine functions without a dust vacuum and therefore is relatively quiet.

摘要： This invention is concerned with a superior rotary brush wherein an elongated brush member is coiled in a helical fashion around a central shaft or cylinder which incorporates a plurality of projections on its outer periphery. The elongated brush member is bent around the projections of said shaft or cylinder in such a fashion that its inner periphery is non-arcuate. The inner periphery of said elongated brush member forms a plurality of cords which generally circumscribe the central shaft or cylinder. In use the inner periphery of the elongated brush member engages the projections as are contained on the central shaft or cylinder in such a manner that movement of the elongated brush member in relation to central shaft or cylinder is prevented.The subject invention is particularly advantageous in that the forces which result from the engagement of the brush filament of the elongated brush member with a work piece are transmitted directly to the elongated shaft or cylinder and not to the fasteners whereby said elongated brush member is attached to said elongated shaft or cylinder.
