Abstract:
An item drop box sensor system for detecting items deposited within a drop box may be configured to detect movement of an item deposit tray and to detect items deposited within the drop box. The drop box sensor system may comprise one or more tray movement sensors for detecting movement of the deposit tray, one or more item detection sensors configured to detect items passing into the drop box via the deposit tray, and an onboard controller for selectively activating the various sensors to conserve power and for transmitting data indicative of the status of the drop box to a central server configured for scheduling item pickups for various geographically spaced drop boxes.
Abstract:
Provided are a system and method for a secure lock box with near proximity awareness. The system includes a lock box housing defining at least one enclosable space for the receipt of a package, the lock box housing having a sealable aperture for accessing the enclosable space and an electronic lock structured and arranged to seal the aperture and enclose the space. The lock box housing further encloses a processor, a near proximity device structured and arranged to actively detect a Package Attribute from a package proximate to the lock box housing, a network component coupled to the processor, and non-volatile memory coupled to the processor having executable instructions to direct the operations of the near proximity device and the electronic lock. The system also includes a a scheduler structured and arranged to establish a schedule of delivery within the non-volatile memory including at least one Defined Characteristic for the operation of the electronic lock in response to the near proximity device detecting from a proximate package a Package Attribute corresponding to the Defined Characteristic. An associated method of use is also provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus for an automated mailbox system. The automated mailbox system includes a personal device configured to manage a robot. The robot includes a base that forms a foundation for the robot and is coupled to a post. The robot includes a mailbox having a door. The mailbox is configured to receive documents when in the open position. The robot includes a transportation component that moves the robot in multiple directions among multiple locations. The transportation component is configured to move the robot in a first direction to a first location.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a universal delivery and collection box unit (UDCBU). In one implementation, a UDCBU includes a mail compartment (110/120) accessible by one door (210) and a storage compartment (130) accessible by a second door (220). The mail compartment allows the postal service to deliver and pickup mail. The storage compartment allows both the postal service and authorized delivery services to deliver larger parcels. In this implementation, information would be recorded regarding access to this storage compartment and transmitted electronically to a consumer.
Abstract:
A package deposit enclosure designed for public use is powered by an efficient storage battery and photovoltaic cell array. These unique features allow the package deposit enclosure to be placed in locations where no power is available, but where there is frequent human traffic. Sensing and wireless data communication features allow the unit to be emptied less often than typical package delivery enclosures. Wireless communication also allows users' access to real-time information. On board power enables other functions, such as lighting and audio, to enhance device functionality.

Abstract:
An unmanned parcel storage apparatus capable of dynamically allocating storage spaces and a method of using the unmanned parcel storage. A storage method of the unmanned parcel storage apparatus determines a position and a size of a desired storage space to be allocated. Based on the determination result, a moving unit adds or removes a partition to create the desired storage space, and moves a delivery item to the created storage space for the storage purpose. Accordingly, it is possible to efficiently use a space in a storage unit and thereby store more number of delivery items in the same storage unit. In addition, the moving unit processes the allocation of storage spaces, and delivery, loading and discharging of the delivery items, and therefore the user's convenience of use can be enhanced.
Abstract:
This invention—iBOX, an intelligent multifunction mailbox, combines several technologies, such as video camera, remote programmable keypad, PN junction thermoelectric unit, powerline communication, wire or wireless communication and Internet together to provide a more secure, multi functional mailbox. It resolves several short comes of the traditional signature-required delivery operations.
Abstract:
A system for delivery or collection of goods from a customer's home comprises a central control system which monitors and controls a plurality of enclosures, each enclosure (1) being protected by releasable locking means or deactivatable alarm means associated with data communication means, e.g. a mobile telephone type unit (4,5,6). The central control system, e.g. a computer (40), generates a new security code for each delivery which is transmitted to the data communication means, and which when subsequently entered into security code input means, e.g. a keypad (6) or an RF tag reader, associated with and accessible from outside the enclosure, affords access to the enclosure enabling a person to deliver or collect an item (50). The central control system may be provided by a delivery service (51,52) and may communicate automatically with the box owner via telephone (20) or mail (PC 30).
Abstract:
A specially designed package receiving device configured to facilitate automatic receipt and notification of packages while preventing unauthorized ingress and egress there-through. The package receiving device includes a frame affixed to an existing support surface, an access panel pivotally coupled to the frame and being selectively rotated along clockwise and counterclockwise directions, a handle affixed to an upper exterior section of the access panel, a plurality of slats pivotally affixed to an interior side of the frame, a box for mail pivotally coupled to the interior side of the upper panel, and a dampening mechanism for providing greater resistive force against rotation of the access panel in the clockwise direction and less resistive force against rotation of the access panel in the counterclockwise direction.
