    Abstract: A portable thermal device includes a housing having a thermally conductive container accessible through an opening. Batteries are contained in the housing. A power supply circuit is in electrical communication between an electrical heater and batteries contained in the to power the electrical heater. In one aspect, an electrical heater uses metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) in thermal contact with the thermally conductive container that are driven in a heat generating range by the power supply circuit. In another aspect, a controller: (i) identifies a thermal profile associated for preparing and maintaining a particular food in the thermal conductive container; (ii) associates the thermal profile with stored power in the one or more batteries; and (iii) communicates via a user interface a limitation on performing the thermal profile based on the stored power.

    Abstract: A beverage cooling assembly for cooling a beverage without ice includes a canister for containing a beverage. The canister is comprised of a thermally conductive material such that the canister is in thermal communication with the beverage. A sleeve is provided and the sleeve is positioned around the canister. The sleeve is comprised of a thermally insulating material to inhibit thermal communication between the beverage and ambient air. A cooling unit is coupled to the sleeve and the cooling unit is in thermal communication with the canister. The cooling unit uses the Peltier effect to create a heat flux between the cooling unit and the canister. In this way the cooling unit cools the beverage in the canister without ice.

    Abstract: A heating preservation system includes a selected unit, a control unit, a detection unit, and a heating unit. The selected unit is configured to select a preset temperature from amongst a plurality of differing preset temperatures, each preset temperature corresponds to a preset voltage. The control unit is configured to send out the preset voltage according to the selected preset temperature. The detection unit is configured to detect a temperature of fluid and convert the temperature to a detected voltage. The comparison unit is configured to receive the preset voltage and the detected voltage and compare the detected voltage with the preset voltage. The heating unit is configured to heat the fluid when the detected voltage is less than the preset voltage, and stop heating the fluid when the detected voltage is more than the preset voltage. A smart cup using the heating preservation system is further disclosed.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for a conventional thermos bottle having a peltier mounted thereon wherein the peltier is operated by turning a crank handle on a generator assembly so that the peltier is actuated. The device is designed for use in emergency or survival situations where there is no electricity available. The device comprises a standard thermos bottle having a hole cut through the side thereon so as to receive a peltier therein. The peltier comprises an aluminum block that has fins milled out to in essence form a cooling or heating module to heat or cool liquid contained inside the thermos. The peltier is attached to the thermos using adhesives, screws or the like so as to firmly attach the aluminum block to the wall of the thermos.
