摘要: A sharps container includes a sub-lid that normally defines an opening into the container that is too small for a hand. Upon closure of the sub-lid, the opening is enlarged so that larger objects can be placed in the container while the closure of the sub-lid continues to prevent a hand from reaching into the container interior. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要: A protective cover for a nasal cannula completely encloses the two prongs of the nasal cannula when properly installed. This protective cover will keep the nasal cannula from contacting potentially unclean surfaces when the nasal cannula is not in use. An optional UV light may be present in the protective cover to provide UV cleaning of the nasal cannula prongs when the cover is closed.

摘要: A cancellation feature (2203) for a pharmaceutical waste disposal assembly (10) having a first surface (2201) and a second surface (2202) can include a first cancellation member (2204) that is secured to the first surface (2204) and a second cancellation member (2205) that is secured to the second surface (2205). The second cancellation member (2205) automatically moves from a pre-engaged configuration that allows engagement with the first cancellation member (2204) to a post-engaged configuration that inhibits engagement with the first cancellation member (2204). The automatic movement occurs after engagement and/or during disengagement between the second cancellation member (2205) and the first cancellation member (2204). The first surface (2201) can form a portion of a receiver that receives pharmaceutical waste, and the second surface (2202) can form a portion of a receiver retainer that retains the receiver. Conversely, the second surface (2202) can form a portion of the receiver and the first surface (2201) can form a portion of the receiver retainer.

摘要: A pharmaceutical waste disposal assembly (10) includes a receiver body (19), a receiver guide (62), a fluid absorber (70) and a fluid distributor (64). The receiver body (19) receives fluid pharmaceutical waste. The receiver guide (62) guides the fluid pharmaceutical waste into the receiver body (19). The fluid absorber (70) is positioned within the receiver body (19), and is adapted to absorb at least a portion of the fluid pharmaceutical waste that is received by the receiver body (19). The fluid distributor (64) is coupled to the receiver guide (62), and extends at least partially into the fluid absorber (70) so that the fluid distributor (64) distributes the fluid pharmaceutical waste within the fluid absorber (70). The fluid distributor (64) includes a plurality of distributor apertures (278) that allow the fluid pharmaceutical waste to flow from the receiver guide (62) to the fluid absorber (70).
