Abstract:
A tooling assembly 10 for use with apparatuses 12,54 for propelling a stream of particles at the tip 46 of a rotor blade, a stator vane is disclosed. Various construction details are developed which enable the use of the assembly with either apparatus. In one embodiment, the wall 36 of a rotatable fixture 32 shields part of the rotor blade or stator vane.
Abstract:
The method disclosed herein relates to sculpting an image on a wax article such as a candle. The sculpting is done by pressure blasting entrained cutting grit through a mask or a sequence of masks. If a sequence of masks is sued to form the sculpted image, a sequence of colored pigments are entrained in the blast to impart different colors to the part of the image exposed by each mask in the sequence. A wax article of manufacture is produced having a concave sculpted surface with embedded colored cutting grit occupying predetermined portions of the image.
Abstract:
An elongate, pliable, paint impermeable cover protects the floor around a doorway during painting. The cover can be folded over itself to size the cover for a smaller doorway.
Abstract:
A paint masking kit for windows and a method of masking windows prior to painting. The paint masking kit for windows includes a container having a plurality of reusable window balance covers having predetermined sizes and shapes for covering a header and balance portions of a window and a predetermined amount of a plastic sheet material for covering the glass portions of the window. The method of paint masking a window, having an upper and lower sash portion, a header and balances, includes raising the lower sash portion to expose the lower half of the balances. The reusable window balance covers are then secured to the exposed lower balance portions, and the lower sash portion is lowered over the window balance covers. Next, the upper sash portion is lowered to expose the header and the upper half of the balances. Reusable window balance covers are secured to the exposed header and balance portions, and the upper sash portion is raised over the window balance covers. Lastly, the plastic sheet material is applied over glass portions of the window.
Abstract:
Method for the glue spreading of expanded polystyrene pieces by means of spraying an aqueous solution of an adhesive, said method consisting of protecting the portions of the support on which the piece to be glued is placed by means of a film or layer of water, the water level not reaching that of the glue surface plane, so as to protect the surface from being soiled by a glue deposit.Installation including a support having an indentation for the picking up and prepositioning of the part to be glued and immersed into a water tank equipped with feed means, water drainage overfill evacuation means, means for controlling the level activating said overfill evacuation means, and glue spraying means.Application for assembling female molds for the production of foundry patterns for disposable patter type molding.
Abstract:
A half hinge paint masking cover for doors, and/or door frames is provided as a one piece body molded of a rigid thermoplastic resin. The device includes two molded half cavities each cavity being connected by a thin flexible membrane of the molded material. The first cavity area covers the back surface area of the hinge barrel and has two half end shields each of which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel and the exposed edge area of the hinge plate. The second cavity half covers the front surface half of the hinge barrel and has two end shields which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel. A portion connected to the second cavity half includes a long flat area which covers the exposed face side of the hinge plate. The two half cavities are secured to each other by folding along the flexible membrane and engulfing the door or frame half hinge until pins projecting from tops on one half engage and protrude through holes which are located on tabs on the other half.
Abstract:
A kit of reusable paint masks for door hinges for use when painting a door and frame comprising two masks, one mask for protecting the door hinge butt plates and the other mask for protecting the pin cylinders. The door hinge butt plate mask is made of a flaccid material having spaced flexible magnetic elements for attachment to magnetically attractable door hinge butt plates by magnetic force. The magnetic elements enable the mask to be readily adjusted for proper registration without requiring removal and reapplication of the mask. A tab is also provided for removal of the mask after completion of the painting. The pin cylinder mask is made of a resilient material of U-shaped transverse cross section with the sides and back engaging the pin cylinder to cover it. Both masks can be manufactured in a variety of standard and specialty sizes.
Abstract:
A pinstripe painting guide is fabricated by attaching a magnetic flexible guide rail to a hollow flexible support member by mating a channel to a T-shaped male mating member. This assembly is then attached to a surface to be painted and adjusted to provide an appropriate contour. The ends of the hollow support member are then plugged and the hollow support member is then flooded with a hardenable liquid such as fiberglass resin. When the liquid cures, the resulting tool is rigid and can be used for repeated application of similar pinstripes to the same type of surface. This process, for example, can be used to produce such a guide assembly for a particular model of automobile.
Abstract:
This cover fits over and removably adheres to a wall-mounted electrical box or to an electrical component fixed to the box. The protecting cover is used, instead of masking tape, to protect the electrical elements from being soiled with paint during spray-gun painting.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for spraying a single side of a printed circuit board with a reactive spray. The apparatus comprises a conveyor table, spray nozzles located below the conveyor table and a protective cover above the conveyor table. The printed circuit boards to be sprayed are sandwiched between the cover and the conveyor table. The cover prevents reactive spray from contacting top sides of the printed circuit boards while also maintaining the boards against the conveyor table such that bottom sides of the boards can be sprayed without risk of reactive spray contacting the top sides of the boards or dislodging the boards from the conveyor table by the upwardly sprayed reactive spray.
