摘要:
A pressure screen for cleaning a fibrous stock including a screen element which has a rotationally symmetrical configuration about a screen axis. The screen element divides the pressure screen into an inlet chamber and an accepted stock chamber. The inlet chamber is connected at a first axial end with a suspension inlet and at a second axial end with a reject outlet. The accepted stock chamber is connected with an accepted stock outlet. The pressure screen also includes a rotor situated in the inlet chamber and including a plurality of rotor blades. The rotor rotates about the rotational axis relative to the screen element. The plurality of rotor blades is arranged on a plurality of circumferential planes of the rotor. The width of an annular gap between the rotor and the screen element decreases from the suspension inlet to the reject outlet.

The value-minerals are captured by gravity-separation, from a low-grade slurry. The ratio of liquids-to-solids in the slurry affects the efficiency of capture, and an ideal liquids/solids ratio is the ratio at which the efficiency of capture is at a maximum. The ideal ratio is different for different particle-sizes. The procedure includes dewatering the slurry, dividing the dry particles by particle-size, and feeding the several size-divided dry-streams into respective capture-stations. Prior to each dry-stream entering its respective capture-station, make-up water is added to the dry-stream in such quantity as to bring the liquids/solids ratio up to the ideal, for that particle-size. The procedure makes it simple to provide accurate measurement of, and accurate control of, the liquids/solids ratio.

A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes comprises a screening unit configured to screen a defibrated material obtained by defibration treatment, and a sheet forming unit configured to form a sheet with the defibrated material screened with the screening unit. The screening unit has a first screening unit to which a plurality of first openings are provided and a second screening unit to which a plurality of second openings larger than the first openings are provided, and the defibrated material is screened by the first screening unit and the second screening unit. The defibrated material is screened at one of either the first screening unit or the second screening unit and thereafter screened at the other, and the sheet forming unit forms the sheet with the defibrated material that does not pass through the first openings and does pass through the second openings.

A screen basket with replaceable profiled bars and method of making such screen basket are described herein. The screen basket includes profiled bars evenly spaced circumferentially to form a plurality of continuous slots that covers the whole basket length. The profiled bars are fixed in place by a backing structure, including support rings. In pulp and paper industry, this type of basket is mainly used for pulp screening and is commonly referred to as wedge wire basket. As opposed to conventional wedge wire baskets, in which the profiled bars are permanently joined to the rings, the present invention allows replacing the profiled bars when required and to fully re-use the main structural elements. This is achieved with an assembly that allows to insert the profiled bars, preferably consecutively sled into each aligned ring grooves in a vertical movement. The ring grooves are profiled such that there is sufficient clearance for sliding in the profiled bars. The mounting clearance is then removed radially to hold the profiled bars in place. According to an illustrative embodiment, this is achieved by squeezing an element made of compressible material, and placed between each ring pair.

A screening device (e.g., screen plate or screen cylinder) is manufactured relatively inexpensively and easily yet has uniform screening openings (e.g., screening slots) even when of a width of less than 0.5 mm. A plurality of wires having first and second sections (the second sections having base portions and of smaller cross-section than the first sections) are mounted substantially parallel to each other, supported by at least one support bar or ring. The bars or rings have slots formed in a first side surface, and a cavity in open communication with the slots in a second side surface. The wires are fixed to the bars or rings by deforming the wires (e.g., by bending a flap, engagement by a reciprocating tool, welding, etc.) within the cavity, or by deformation of the support bar or ring in the cavity. The screen plate or cylinder is preferably used to screen or otherwise treat a cellulose pulp suspension, e.g., by subjecting the first sections of the wires to a flow of pulp with accepts passing through the screening openings.

In a cylindrical sieve, a first frame 7 is provided with a first ring plate 7a arranged in a radial direction and a ring plate 7b extended inward in an axial direction X of the sieve from an inner end of the first ring plate 7a. The ring plate 7b has an inwardly warped end. A ring projection 2a is fit in a ring-shaped cavity K1 defined by a ring recess 10a and the first frame 7. The ring plate 7b presses the ring projection 2a inward in the radial direction to prevent the ring projection 2a from being slipped off the matching recess. Through holes 7c (counter bores) are formed in the first frame 7 along the axial direction X. Four of the through holes 7c are used to fasten the rods 6 and receive the Phillips head screws 6f seated therein, and the remaining through holes 7c receives Phillips head screws 20 (see FIG. 1) seated therein for reinforced linkage of the first frame 7 with the holder frame 11.

An apparatus for classifying fine balls having diameters of 1 mm or less into those having predetermined diameter ranges, comprising a feeder for supplying fine balls, at least one rotatable cylindrical sieve constituted by a plate with a thickness of 200 μm or less having circular holes and having a center axis inclined relative to a horizontal plane, and a container for receiving fine balls classified by subjecting the fine balls to falling from the cylindrical sieve, the fine balls being supplied from the feeder to an inlet of the rotating cylindrical sieve at its upper end, fine balls that have passed through the circular holes of the cylindrical sieve being subjected to falling to be recovered by the container, and fine balls that have not passed through the circular holes being withdrawn from an exit of the cylindrical sieve at its lower end.

A grate assembly having at least two generally arcuate bodies and methods of forming and assembling the bodies of the grate assembly. Each body has an outer perimeter and a plurality of openings passing therethrough. At least a portion of the outer perimeter of each body has a perforate edge surface. The perforate edge surface is arranged for mating engagement with the perforate edge surface of an adjacent body to define at least some of the openings through which wood particulate passes.
