The small amount of fluid allows for the pump to remain working and introduces cooler water into a bypass circuit, thereby allowing the thermal relief valve to be omitted. The diameter of the bypass line is of such a diameter to prevent siphonage of the detergent associated with the pressure washer system into the water storage tank as well.

    摘要: A high pressure hot water acid washer is towed to a site on a trailer. A chemical tank and gasoline and diesel fuel tanks are filled. A water supply hose is connected to a water tank. A power cord is connected to a power source. A float valve controls the filling of the water tank. Water flows from the water tank through a Y-type filter to a water pump. A drain withdraws water directly from the water pump. The water pump and a compressor are driven with an engine. Pressurized water flows through a flow switch to a heat exchanger. Upon water flow, the flow switch completes a power circuit to operate a fuel pump with an electric motor. Fuel is pumped from the fuel tank and is atomized and sprayed into the heat exchanger. An ignition coil ignites the fuel. The power circuit is interrupted upon sensing a high temperature in a pressurized water delivery line from the heat exchanger. Pressure of pressurized hot water in the delivery line is controlled with a hot water pressure relief valve. Hot water flows out through a high pressure hot water hose and nozzle. The chemical tank is pressurized with air from the compressor, and chemical flows from the chemical tank. Rate of flow of chemical is controlled with a needle valve. Opening the chemical line with ball valve releases chemical to the fast hot water stream from the nozzle.

    摘要: A pressure washer for delivering liquid under high pressure has an inlet conduit connected to a liquid supply, an outlet conduit connected to a spray nozzle with a valve which is selectively openable for spraying liquid and a plurality of piston operated pumping cylinders connected in parallel between the inlet conduit and the outlet conduit. A bypass conduit recirculates liquid from the outlet to the inlet conduit. A valve in the bypass conduit selectively permits leakage from the outlet conduit when the spray nozzle valve is open and opens communication between the outlet conduit and the bypass conduit when the spray nozzle valve is closed and pressure builds up in the outlet conduit. Each piston in a pumping cylinder is driven to reciprocate through its pumping cylinder. The piston also moves laterally because there is an eccentric connection between the piston and a common rotary pin for each of the pistons of each of the pumping cylinders. Appropriate valves direct liquid flow only from the inlet conduit through the pumping cylinders to the outlet conduit. Additional liquid may be supplied to and mixed with the liquid in the outlet conduit through a valve at a venturi connection in the outlet conduit. A pressure gauge connected with the outlet conduit measures pressure there.

The mobile washing system contains means to receive water at low pressure from the municipal or domestic well water supply. There is an engine and pump that pressurizes the water received; an onboard sdelf regenerating water softening unit to remove impurities from the wash and rinse water so that washed vehicles may dry virtually spot-free without manual drying; reservoirs for storing a liquid cleaning agent and a liquid wax which can be introduced into the discharge stream under operator control to eliminate the need to manually apply soap or wax; and valves and controls to effectively operate the wash system. All components are mounted on a wheeled cart which can be easily rolled from vehicle to vehicle by the operator or rolled to a convenient washing location. The water softening system is such that is may be regenerated by the user as required, eliminating both the expense of returning the mineral tank to the manufacturer and the frequenct, lengthly periods of unavailability.

    摘要: In operating high-pressure cleaning units, the outflow of the water discharged from the associated pump (6,8) may be temporarily interrupted. As the pump normally operates continuously, care must be taken to ensure that the water can then be returned in a bypass to the pump's suction side. This can be achieved by a bypass valve sensing a rising pressure in the said closing situation, thus opening for the bypass. Correspondingly, the bypass valve (36,44,32) senses a declining pressure when the discharge or ejection is resumed, thus causing a block to the bypass (40). However, a corresponding, declining pressure occurs when the pump is stopped, for which reason the bypass valve will block the bypass also in this condition. Thus, the result is that during the stopping process determined by the pump's inertia a substantial and dangerous pressure may build up in the discharge conduit (26) from the pump. The invention eliminates this pressure build-up by the bypass valve (36,44,32) being designed to respond to a pressure decline with such a time delay (via a constriction 60) that the pump with associated motor will be essentially fully stopped after switching off the motor, prior to the bypass being closed. In practice, it is without major significance that a slight delay also occurs in this way when reconnecting full operating pressure when reopening for the discharge from the cleaning unit.
