    摘要： Operation of a cutting mechanism provides an annular gasket or washer from a suitable solid gasket or washer material. The cutting mechanism includes a body defining a passage with an opening and a cutting head. The cutting head translationally retracts into the passage through the opening and projects from the passage through the opening along a longitudinal axis of the mechanism. The cutting head carries multiple cutters and can be selectively rotated about the axis when projecting through the opening from the passage. The position of each of the cutters is adjustable along a radial range of distances from the axis to correspondingly set an inner diameter and an outer diameter of the gasket or washer.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for making split lock washers consists of an automated machine wherein the diameter and gap of a lock washer can be accurately controlled. The apparatus includes a drive mechanism for driving the cutter and a transmission unit driven by the drive mechanism which can be adjusted to correlate the feed speed of the wire with the cutter to produce washers of different diameters. After the correlation speed has been set the production speed can be increased or decreased and the synchronized relation of the feed and cutter speeds will remain the same.

The beveled forming rollers have complementarily shaped waved contours between which a spring blank is introduced.
