摘要:
A method, an apparatus and a computer readable-medium for monitoring a continuous steel casting process where molten steel is poured from a ladle into a tundish to be transferred through an exit nozzle into a mold. The method includes obtaining a critical superheat temperature value for the molten steel; measuring temperature values of the molten steel over a time period; determining superheat temperature values corresponding to the measured temperature values by comparing the measured temperature values with a liquidus temperature of the molten steel; and predicting a forecast time instance when the critical superheat temperature value is reached.
摘要:
A method for measuring the temperature in a mold by a fiber-optic measurement method and a correspondingly designed mold. For this purpose, light waveguides, through which laser light is conducted, are arranged in grooves in the outside surface of the copper mold plate. The temperature at several measurement points along the measurement fiber is determined by a temperature detection system. In particular, the method makes it possible to achieve much greater local resolution of the temperature measurements than that achieved by thermocouples.
摘要:
The method for controlling flow pattern of molten steel in continuous casting, comprises the steps of: (a) continuously casting a molten steel injected through an immersion nozzle; (b) measuring temperatures of a copper plate on longer side of the mold in width direction thereof at plurality of points; (c) detecting a flow pattern of the molten steel in the mold based on the time-sequential variations of temperatures of the copper plate at individual measurement points; and (d) controlling the flow pattern to establish a specified pattern on the basis of the detected result. The temperatures of mold copper plate are measured by plurality of temperature measurement elements buried in the rear face of the mold copper plate for continuous casting. The temperature measurement elements are arranged in a range of from 10 to 135 mm distant from the melt surface in the mold in the slab-drawing direction.
摘要:
An apparatus for detecting the level of molten metal such as steel in a mold which is particularly effective in continuous casting equipment. The structure is such that, even if any wire in the thermocouples arranged in the direction of the height of the mold breaks, accurate judgement of the level can be made without any difficulty by effective control of a signal processing apparatus connected thereto.

A device includes: an input device configured to receive an input of measurement results of a temperature and components of molten steel in a tundish of continuous casting facilities, measurement results of a width, a thickness, and a casting speed of a cast slab casted in the continuous casting facilities, and molten steel flow rate distribution in a mold; a model database configured to store a model expression and a parameter related to solidification reaction of molten steel in the mold; a convertor configured to convert a molten steel flow rate in the mold into a heat conductivity parameter; and a calculator configured to estimate a solidified shell thickness in the mold based on temperature distribution of the mold and steel in the mold calculated by solving a three-dimensional transient heat conduction equation using the measurement results.
摘要:
A process for predicting longitudinal cracks during continuous casting of steel slabs. The local strand temperature is measured by thermocouples distributed in the mold wall. In this process, the risk of the strand rupturing as a result of longitudinal cracking is assessed statistically taking into account the current temperature values measured by the thermocouples arranged in the mold and the temperature values determined when no cracks are present.

A temperature measuring device, which is used in a continuous casting machine, measures the surface temperature of a part or all of a cast slab in a width direction of the cast slab, which is drawn from a mold and conveyed by rollers, in a secondary cooling zone of the continuous casting machine. The temperature measuring device includes a support member that is installed on the side of roller support parts by which the rollers are rotatably supported; an arm member of which a proximal portion is rotatably mounted on the support member; and a radiation thermometer which is provided at a distal end portion of the arm member and of which a light receiving opening is disposed at a position corresponding to a height in the range of 1.0 to 4.5 m from the surface of the cast slab.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention provides a method of direct chill casting a composite metal ingot. The method involves sequentially casting two or more metal layers to form a composite ingot by supplying streams of molten metal to two or more casting chambers within a casting mold of a direct chill casting apparatus. Inlet temperatures of one or more of the streams of molten metal are monitored at a position adjacent to an inlet of a casting chamber fed with the stream, and the inlet temperatures are compared with a predetermined set temperature for the stream to determine if there is any difference. A casting variable that affects molten metal temperatures entering or within the casting chambers (e.g. casting speed) is then adjusted by an amount based on the difference of the compared temperatures to eliminate adverse casting effects caused by the difference of the inlet temperature and the set temperature. Preferably an adjustment is selected that causes the monitored temperature to approach the set temperature. Another exemplary embodiment provides equipment for operation of the method.
摘要:
In pouring superheated metal melts from a pouring vessel into an ingot mould or a chill mould, the molten metal is passed through a teeming tube of relatively small cross-sectional area into the mould, and during this passage the whole of the superheat and part of the heat of fusion is withdrawn from the melt, and measurements of the temperature of the melt are made at certain points in the teeming tube and employed for controlling the flow of the molten metal.
