摘要： A portable vice affixed to a work bench comprising a pair of independently positioned jaws for clamping a horseshoe. A hand-operated lever simultaneously controls the interjaw distance of a pair of independent jaws gripping two differently contoured horseshoe surfaces. Two parallel stanchions are disposed symmetrically of each independent jaw pair, with each jaw pair comprising a movable jaw situated above a stationary jaw. A slidable carriage encloses a spring for each independent jaw pair and is retained laterally between the pair of parallel stanchions and vertically between a top spring retaining plate and a bottom carriage plate.

摘要： A centering clamp which is particularly useful for clamping work pieces in jigs is disclosed. The clamp comprises: a threaded shaft having a left hand thread on one end portion and a right hand thread on the opposite other end portion, and having a rotation means on one end portion thereof; an alignment pin; a center arm having a mounting end, a central portion having two lateral holes therethrough, one adapted to accommodate a central portion of the threaded shaft, and the other adapted to accommodate the alignment pin; a left jaw arm having a jaw end portion, a central portion having two lateral holes therethrough, one threaded to accommodate the left hand thread on the threaded shaft, and the other sized to accommodate the alignment pin; a right jaw arm having a mating jaw end portion, a central portion having two lateral holes therethrough, one threaded to accommodate the right hand thread on the threaded shaft, and the other sized to accommodate the alignment pin; and, holding means positioned on opposite sides of the center member on the threaded shaft to ensure equal extension of left and right hand threads from opposite side portions of the center arm; so that when the threaded shaft is rotated the jaw end portions move maintaining equal distances from the center arm.

摘要： A removable attachment for use with a hand-held tool is disclosed. The tool comprises a housing and a cutting blade mounted therein for continuous reciprocating movement during operation. The attachment comprises a work piece receiving member pivotally mounted to the tool housing. An adjustable clamping member is pivotally mounted to the work piece receiving member. An adjuster, movable between an engaged and a disengaged position, is operably connected to the clamping member for adjusting the clamping member so as to clamp a work piece positioned on the work piece receiving member for operation thereon by the cutting blade. A quick release mechanism is provided for quickly moving the adjuster between its engaged and disengaged positions. In one preferred embodiment, the quick release mechanism comprises a rotatable cam operatively connected with a sliding member; rotation of the cam causes the sliding member to move from the first position to the second position thereby causing the sliding member to move the adjuster into the engaged position. In the engaged position, the adjuster is operably connected to the clamping member, and in the disengaged position, the clamping member and the adjuster are freely movable allowing the operator to quickly position a work piece in the clamp or remove a cut work piece.

A rotatable cam is operatively connected with the sliding member; rotation of the cam causes the sliding member to move from the first position to the second position thereby causing the sliding member to move the adjuster into the operable position. In the operable position, the adjuster is operably connected to the clamping member, and in the non-operable position, the clamping member and the adjuster are freely movable allowing the operator to quickly position a work piece in the clamp or remove a cut work piece.
