    Abstract: A gemstone centering device includes a platform for receiving the gemstone and two pairs of arms. The pair of first arms arranged opposite one another above the platform and movable along a first axis. The pair of first arms move between a retracted position and an extended position in which a distance between first gem contacting surfaces of the pair of first arms is less than in the retracted position. The pair of second arms are arranged opposite one another above the platform and movable along a second axis. The pair of second arms move between a retracted position and an extended position in which a distance between second gem contacting surfaces of the pair of second arms is less than in the retracted position. Movement of the pair of first arms is independent from movement of the pair of second arms.

    Abstract: A clamping system includes a flat substrate defining a doghole, and a clamp assembly. The clamp assembly includes a clamp providing a clamp body, the clamp body providing an angled clamp surface defined on a first side of the clamp body and tapering outwardly from a top end of the clamp to a bottom end of the clamp, and a series of retention teeth defined on a second side of the clamp body opposite the first side of the clamp body. The clamp assembly further includes a wedge providing a wedge body, the wedge body providing an angled wedge surface on a first side of the wedge body and tapering inwardly from a top end of the wedge to a bottom end of the wedge, wherein slidingly engaging the clamp and the wedge within the doghole forms an interference fit at the doghole.

    Abstract: A method for clamping a workpiece that is first provided with depressions, wherein these depressions are, arranged in one row or a field having a grid distance of 3 mm. The grid distance is thereby the center distance of the depressions, the depth of which is preferably less than the length of the depressions measured in direction of the row of the depressions. The distances between the depressions preferably correspond approximately to the length of the depressions. The grid distance of 2.5 mm to 3 mm has proven to be an optimum for a wide range of usable workpieces and materials.

    Abstract: A clamp includes a fixed jaw assembly which has a fixed jaw and a movable jaw assembly which has a movable jaw. The movable jaw assembly is movable with respect to said fixed jaw assembly so that the movable jaw moves with respect to the fixed jaw. A handle is rotatably connected to the fixed jaw assembly, the handle includes a cam which moves the movable jaw assembly. When the handle is placed in a first rotational position the jaws are open and the movable jaw is disposed a first distance from the fixed jaw. When the handle is placed in a second rotational position the jaws are closed and the movable jaw is disposed a second distance from the fixed jaw, the second distance being less than the first distance. An adjustment is provided for changing both the first and second distances.

The self-centering vial clamp includes a clamp body including a vial aperture and two or more jaw slots spaced around the vial aperture, two or more clamp jaws spaced around the vial aperture, with a clamp jaw including a vial contact face and one or more jaw projections configured to engage a jaw slot of the clamp body, and two or more lever arms coupled to the two or more clamp jaws. A lever arm of the self-centering vial claim is configured to be manually pivoted, wherein the lever arm translates the pivoting motion into a sliding motion of the corresponding clamp jaw. Interacting lever gears formed on the lever arms constrain the two or more clamp jaws to move substantially in unison during the manual pivoting, aligning the vial.

    Abstract: Parallel gripping devices in cleaning installations are disclosed. A disclosed gripping device includes a first parallel gripper jaw support including a first gear rack, and a second parallel gripper jaw support including a second gear rack. The disclosed gripping device also includes a coupling gear operatively coupled to the first and second gear racks, the coupling gear to couple a motion of the first and second gear racks in a linear direction, where a rotational movement direction of the coupling gear varies whether the first and the second gear racks move towards or away from one another. The disclosed gripping device also includes an actuator to cause at least one of the first or second parallel gripper jaw supports to move along the linear direction.
