摘要: A cordless aw is provided with regenerative braking means that increases the number of repeated cuttings the saw is able to perform (x) per full discharge cycle of the battery pack, as compared to the number of repeated cuttings achievable by the same saw not employing a regenerative braking means (y) per full discharge cycle of the battery pack, such that x/y is approximately at least one of the following: i) 1.1 when cutting a Pressure-Treated (PT) lumber workpiece having a cross-sectional size of approximately 89 mm×89 mm±2 mm, ii) 1.15 when cutting a Spruce Pine Fir (SPF) lumber workpiece having a cross-sectional size of approximately 38 mm×89 mm±2 mm, or iii) 1.25 when cutting Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) workpiece having a thickness of approximately 19 mm±1 mm and a width of approximately 76 mm±2 mm.

摘要: A system and method relating to a saw system, the saw system including a saw blade configured for cutting, a shaft connected to the saw blade, a motor configured to rotate the saw blade by rotating the shaft, and at least one processor configured to control the motor. The saw system further comprising a detector configured to detect when a body part of a person is adjacent to or touching the saw blade. The at least one processor is configured to control the motor to stop rotation of the saw blade in response to the detector detecting that the body part is adjacent to or touching the saw blade. The saw blade including at least one hole that is filled with a weight-reduction insert.

摘要: A handheld work apparatus has a drive motor which drives a work tool in rotation via a belt drive. The belt drive has at least one first, driving pulley and at least one second, driven pulley. Between the first pulley and the second pulley there acts at least one drive belt for transmitting the drive torque. A second pulley is connected to the tool for conjoint rotation. The rotational speed of the second pulley is less than the rotational speed of the first pulley during operation. The work apparatus has a brake unit which acts on the first pulley. The belt drive includes at least one redirection roll. During braking, at least one redirection roll bears on the tight side of each drive belt which acts between the first pulley and the second pulley. This allows a simple structure and safe braking of the work tool.

摘要: A sensing mechanism (12) for detecting user contact with an active portion (26) of the power tool (10) is provided. In addition, a safety mechanism (14) for preventing prolonged user contact with the active portion (26) of a power tool (10) is provided. The safety mechanism (14) is configured to actuate upon receipt of a signal from the sensing mechanism (12). According to a first aspect, the safety mechanism (14) is arranged to rapidly displace the active portion (26) away from a user extremity. Alternatively, according to a second aspect, the safety mechanism (14) is arranged to rapidly urge an extremity of the user away from the active portion (26) of the power tool (10).

摘要: A method of controlling a woodworking machine having a movable cutting tool. The method monitors a signal for a change indicative of a dangerous condition between the cutting tool and a person, senses movement of the cutting tool, and performs an action to mitigate the dangerous condition when the signal change and movement of the cutting tool are both detected. A woodworking machine including a detection system adapted to detect a dangerous condition between a person and a working portion of the machine and then to perform some action to mitigate the dangerous condition is also disclosed. A motion detection system is adapted to detect motion of the working portion and to disable the reaction system when the working portion is not moving.
