摘要:
The roller bar chains of a continuous press for producing pressed board provided sufficient play for the roller bars relative to the link chains by having the journaling pins for the link chains extending through bushings which articulate the overlapping link plates together, so that the outer diameters of the pins within these bushings are less than the inner diameters of the bushings. The result is that the roller bar chain has only a single guide plane in the press region between the two press plates.

A continuous belt press has upper and lower platens defining a horizontal gap. Upper and lower upstream drums and downstream are rotatable on the frame about respective horizontal drum axes at the upstream and downstream ends of the gap. Upper and lower endless steel belts spanned over the respective upper and lower drums each have a working stretch supported by respective upper and lower sets of rollers on the respective platens. Each belt has a pair of edges projecting transversely past the respective rollers and at least one of the drums of each of the belts has a substantially cylindrical central region of a predetermined central diameter bearing through the respective rollers on the working stretch of the respective belt and a pair of edge formations of smaller diameter than the central-region diameter lying outside the central region and in engagement with the edges of the respective belt.

A method for continuously producing finished board from a mat of a pressing stock mixed with a binder in a continuously operating press having steel belts, friction reducing elements, heating plates and cooling plates, the method comprising choosing a cooling length of a cooling section to cure the mat of pressing stock and to ensure a harmless vapor pressure within a finished board; introducing the mat between the steel belts of the continuously operating press; heating and pressing the pressing stock in a heating section of the continuously operating press; and cooling surfaces of the pressing mat just before the reaction starting temperature is reached, wherein the surfaces of the mat are subject to cooling when the temperature at the center of the stock is about 85% to 95% of the temperature required for curing the pressing stock. A continuously operating press for producing boards from a pressing stock has a press table and a press ram located above the press table. The press also has a first steel belt that is guided around the press table by a first drive roller and a first deflection roller and a second steel belt that is guided around the press table by a second drive roller and a second deflection roller. Heating and cooling plates are mounted to each of the press table and the press ram. The press also has a plurality of friction reducing elements between each of the first and second steel belts and the respective heat plates. The first and second steel belts transmit a pressing pressure and pull the pressing stock through the press. A pressing section of the continuously operating press is divided into a heating section and a cooling section such that the cooling section is variably extendable from the heating section with the cooling plates and the heating section is variably extendable from the cooling section with the heating plates.

A continuously working press is disclosed which includes first and second flexible, endless steel belts which are guided around a press table and a press ram via drive drums and return drums and which are supported on a plurality of roller bars. Each of two entry systems has an entry area which extends from an entry tangent to a starting point of a high pressure area and which is divided into a roller bar orientation area, a curved precompression area for the material to be pressed, and a straight compression area. The last third of the roller bar orientation area and all of the precompression area of each of the entry systems have a radius of curvature R.sub.E which is between one and two times radius of curvature of the return drums R.sub.U. A plurality of computer-controlled hydraulic supporting members support the first and second entry systems and apply a pressure to the material to be pressed. The applied pressure increases constantly from 0 bar at the entry tangent up to a maximum pressure HP.sub.max at the high pressure area. The hydraulic supporting members provide a servo-hydraulically adjustable force profile having a variable compression angle, with the applied pressure increasing constantly from 0 to HP.sub.max /4 from the start of the roller bar orientation area up to the end of the first one quarter of the precompression area.

A continuously operating press includes a press table, a press ram facing the press table, first and second flexible endless steel bands which transfer a pressing pressure to and draw a material to be pressed through an adjustable pressing gap, and driving drums and deflecting drums which drive the first and second endless steel bands around the press table and the press ram, respectively. Rolling bars are disposed with their axes being transverse to the running direction of the steel bands and extending over the entire working area of the press. Heated platens are attached to the press table and press ram, respectively, with the rolling bars rolling on the heated platens. The heated platens have end surfaces which are connected to one another via straight butt joints. The heated platens also have bore holes formed therein which extend parallel to the longitudinal direction of the press and which are independently heatable to provide a plurality of heating surfaces in each of the heated platens. Roll platens at least partially cover the heated platens and extend over the entire working area of the press. The roll platens have a thickness in a range of 7 mm to 23 mm and a Brinell hardness of 250, are heat treated on opposite surfaces, and have a precision ground finish. Finally, expansion joints join the roll platens and extend obliquely relative to the running direction of the steel bands.

In the fabrication of wood material panels, processed wood particles are coated with a binder free of a hardener and then are spread in a fleece on a support surface. The fleece is then compacted and pressed to form the panel. Before the compacting step, microcapsules are introduced into the fleece. The microcapsules have enclosing walls that do not react with the binder and contain a hardener in the gaseous phase or in the binary phase with a gaseous carrier agent. When the fleece is compacted, the capsule walls are destroyed and the hardener is released into the fleece. The microcapsules containing the hardener are produced in a device located adjacent to the inlet end of the press so that there is only a short distance between the device and a mixing station where the microcapsules and the bonded processed wood particles are mixed. The mixing station is located just ahead of or at the spreading station where the mixed wood particles and microcapsules are formed into the fleece. The spreading station is located immediately adjacent the inlet to the press.

A continuously working press is provided wherein steel bands of at least 2 mm thickness are used, and the roller bars have a diameter of at least 20 mm, preferably 21 mm. The roller bars, at the end faces thereof, are mounted in guide chains driven by entry sprockets. The entry and feed sprockets, which are fixed on the same axis, of the table and press ram are controlled in a synchronized manner and, in each case with the same radius, enclose both the roller bars as well as the link sleeves or the protective rollers in such a way that the center axes of the top and bottom roller bars are in alignment with one another in the pressure direction.

A press is operable to form pressed materials such as fiberboard or chipboard. The press includes a press ram and a press platen facing one another to define a pressing region therebetween, and a plurality of rolling rods which support moving bands which draw the article through an entry region of the press and through the pressing region. An entry alignment device for the rolling rods includes first and second resilient pressure holding plates which impose a progressively increasing non-positive clamping force on the rolling rods as the rolling rods pass through the entry region, and first and second pilgrim-step mechanisms, each having a plurality of toothed members which are raised and lowered to periodically engage gaps formed between the rolling rods to impose a positive clamping force on the rods.

This invention relates to a novel method and press which are useful for the continuous production of structural wood composite products of large cross-section. A method of continuously forming a compressed structural wood composite product composed of an assembly of wood elements, comprising: (a) heating and plasticizing the wood assembly before or during the initial stages of pressing the wood assembly; and (b) compressing the heated and plasticized wood assembly so that the wood assembly permanently sets at a rate which corresponds to the rate of compression of the assembly.
