    摘要： An improved horizontally-oriented machine capable of forming a trays or other similar fiberboard containers from single blanks. The improved machine includes three distinct sections: (1) a loading bay which includes a vertical lift, a sheet feeders and a unique set of gates for pre-positioning the end flaps of container blanks for later folding; (2) an adhesion and flap-folding section which includes adhesive applicators, a series of folding plows and a compression area for pre-folding the end flaps of the container to be formed; and (3) a final forming section including an adjustable vertically mounted mandrel surrounded by adjustable forming plows for making the final container. The flap-folding section includes a flight chain assembly which can be easily lowered when the machine is not operating, to allow service access to the interior of the machine in the event of a jam or misfeed, thereby avoiding the time consuming task of cutting or tearing out the misfeed, and allowing the machine to be quickly brought back on line.

    摘要： Automated apparatus for forming paperboard packaging from an integral paperboard blank includes a blade for gathering a central portion of the paperboard blank, causing the width of the blank to contract. A reciprocating mandrel rams the blank into a hollow tubular former having an opening of reduced size, causing portions of the blank to form side walls properly positioned with respect to a floor portion of the blank. Pistons within the mandrel apply pressure to overlapping portions of the formed blank, to seal those portions together.

    摘要： The invention relates to a broadsheet from cardboard for constructing a stackable box with corner supports, which box consists in a usual way of a bottom and four side walls, characterized in that two opposite side walls of the box to be made from the broadsheet show extended parts which are folded according to parallel lines and this in such a manner that some sides of these parts which will form in a later phase a corner support are adhered by glue to an adjacent side wall while the other sides of the same parts or a portion thereof are provided with a fasteners which co-operates when constructing the box, i.e. amongst others when forming the corner support, with an analogous fasteners provided on the other adjacent side wall.

    摘要： A foldable container having reinforced corners is provided. The container includes a bottom section which is delimited by upright side and end panels. The side and end panels are foldably connected to the periphery of the bottom section and cooperate therewith to form an open top product-accommodating compartment. Pairs of corner-reinforcing members are foldably connected to the edges of each end panel adjacent the side panels. Each corner-reinforcing member is provided with a first section connected to the end panel edge and partially overlying and being secured to the interior surface of the adjacent side panel. A second section is connected to the first section and is secured thereto in at least a partial foldback relation. A third section is connected to the second section and is secured in partially overlying relation with the interior surface of the end panel.
