摘要: In a state where a distance from an ejection port surface of an ejection head to a predetermined position corresponds to a first distance, a period detection unit detects a first period from when ejection of a droplet from an ejection port is started until when a droplet detection unit detects the droplet, and in a state where the distance from the ejection port surface of the ejection head to the predetermined position is changed to a second distance by a change unit, the period detection unit detects a second period from when ejection of a droplet from the ejection port is started until when the droplet detection unit detects the droplet, the second distance being different from the first distance. A calculation unit calculates an ejection speed of the droplet, based on the first distance, the second distance, the first period, and the second period.

The method also includes determining whether a lightness of color of a first predetermined area to a left side of a respective vertical edge is substantially equal to, less than, or greater than the lightness of color of a second predetermined area to a right side of the respective vertical edge. The method also includes categorizing respective vertical edges left vertical edges, right vertical edges, and neutral vertical edges to prioritize a print direction thereof.

摘要: A method of printing an image using a printing system having first and second overlapping printhead segments. The method includes the steps of: (i) identifying a strip of the image to be printed in an overlap region of the first and second printhead segments; (ii) determining a continuous seam in the strip based on a cost function, the cost function including a parameter selected from the group consisting of: (a) minimizing a density of printed ink along the seam; and (b) maximizing a luminance along the seam; and (iii) printing the image using the first and second printhead segments, the printing including stitching the first and second printhead segments across the seam. The strip contains variable image content and the seam has a varying position within the strip.

The test image includes a plurality of first lines which are printed by the first printing section so as to have printing positions different from each other in a line arrangement direction on the printing medium and a plurality of second lines which are printed by the second printing section so as to have printing positions different from each other in the line arrangement direction. The information processing device contains a printing coordinate acquisition section, a printing position acquisition section, and a positional shift amount calculation section.

摘要: A printing apparatus includes a carriage unit, and carries out printing on a recording medium while transporting the recording medium. The carriage unit includes a first head that discharges an ink and a second head that discharges an ink of the same color, and the second head is disposed so as to be adjacent to the first head in an x axis direction, and to overlap with the first head in a y axis direction. In an outgoing path in the reciprocation of the carriage unit, a printing density of a first image, which the first head prints, gradually decreases toward a downstream side in a transport direction of the recording medium, and the first image includes a dot group, in which at least two dots formed using the ink from the first nozzles are linked to one another in the x axis direction. In addition, in a return path in the reciprocation of the carriage unit, the second nozzles print a second image, which supplements a decrease in the printing density of the first image.

摘要: A system, method and non-transitory computer readable medium for testing the alignment of a bidirectional scanning print system are described. A first swathe is printed in first direction, and a second swathe is printed after the first in a second direction along a print axis. Each swathe comprises a plurality of printed blocks aligned along the print axis, separated by unprinted bars. Misalignment in the print system can be identified from the print output.
