摘要： A paper guide mechanism for a serial printer wherein print paper can be prevented from being soiled by contact thereof with an ink ribbon or an ink ribbon guide plate while also leaping out of the ink ribbon through a printing hole of the ink ribbon guide plate is prevented. A paper guide plate is disposed in such a manner as to assure a gap from a print head so that the ink ribbon may not leap out readily from the printing hole of the ink ribbon guide plate mounted on the paper guide plate. The paper guide plate is so shaped that, when the ink ribbon guide plate is mounted on the paper guide plate, the ink ribbon guide plate presents a concave configuration toward the platen so as to prevent contact between the ink ribbon guide plate and print paper as far as possible.

摘要： In a thermal ink-transfer printing apparatus, a recording sheet to which a picture is to be transferred and an ink film having an ink layer are passed between a thermal head and a platen roller so that ink of the ink film is transferred to the recording sheet in accordance with a picture pattern. The thermal head is provided with heating resistors which are arranged in a line and which selectively generate heat in response to picture signals. Thus, the ink of the ink film is selectively heated and softened or melted to be transferred to the recording sheet. The ink film and the recording sheet pass through a gap between the platen roller and the thermal head in such a manner that the ink layer of the ink film is in contact with the recording sheet. In the ink transfer, the platen roller can rotate while pressing the ink film and the recording sheet on the heating resistor array of the thermal head. A restricting roller rolling on the platen roller is disposed upstream of the heating resistor array with respect to the travelling direction of the ink film. The ink film passes through a gap between the restricting roller and the platen roller to be guided in a specific path.

摘要： A ribbon mask for a wire or stylus-type dot matrix print head is carried with the print head, positioned between the print ribbon and the printing surface, and has a forwardly-angled integral flange extending from along a portion of the top of the main body of the ribbon mask. The flange rigidifies the intersection where the main body of the mask meets the flange, so that curving the ribbon mask along its longitudinal axis forms a generally triangular, forwardly-biased face adjacent the printing surface. Centrally located within the face is a vertically-oriented oval opening through which pass the printing wires as they move toward and strike the ribbon against the printing surface to form dot characters.

摘要： An ink ribbon cartridge has an ink ribbon and a ribbon casing accommodating the ink ribbon therein and defining in a part thereof an ink ribbon exposure opening.
