    摘要: Disclosed are a scratch color-developable ink comprising an electron-donating colorless or light-color dye precursor, an electron-accepting color developer and a varnish, wherein a solid particle component contained therein has an average particle diameter of 0.3 to 25 μm, a scratch color-developable ink comprising an electron-donating colorless or light-color dye precursor, an electron-accepting color developer and a varnish, wherein an azaphthalide compound is contained as the electron-donating colorless or light-color dye precursor, and an invisible information printed sheet obtained by printing invisible information on a support with the above scratch color-developable ink.The above scratch color-developable ink makes invisible information visible easily by scratching with a finger nail although the color of an invisible information printed portion is hard to develop by frictional contact during usual handling, gives a high developed color intensity and is free from the occurrence of dust during the visualization of invisible information.

    摘要: A layered image-forming composite can include a substrate having a background color layer and a color-forming layer applied thereon. The color-forming layer includes a leuco dye that can be developed upon exposure to energy to produce a developed color. The background layer and the color-forming layer can each contribute to the overall appearance of the composite either before and/or after development of the leuco dye. In one aspect, the color-forming layer can have a thickness sufficiently thin to allow a portion of the fixed background color to be visible through a developed portion of the color-forming layer. Optionally, the color-forming layer can be applied in a filter pattern, e.g., halftone, moiré, stochastic, etc. in order to provide unique visual effects to the layered composite.

    摘要: Pressure-sensitive copying material comprises a substrate carrying isolated droplets of an oil solution of chromogenic material confined within respective pressure-rupturable barriers. The chromogenic material develops a colour other than blue or black on contact with colour developer and comprises a component which is fluorescent. This enables the authenticity of the copying material to be verified by irradiation with ultra-violet light to produce fluorescence. The fluorescent material can be, for example 2,2-bis(4-{2-�4-diethylaminophenyl!-quinazolin-4-yloxy}phenyl) propane or 1-(3-methoxy-4-dodecyloxyphenyl)-2-(2'-quinolyl)ethylene. Non-fluorescent chromogenic material(s) are preferably used in combination with the fluorescent chromogenic material(s).

    摘要: A novel class of N-substituted triarylmethane sulfonamides is provided which undergo reversible oxidation into colored form and reversible reduction of the oxidized form into colorless form. The N-substituted triarylmethane sulfonamides can be represented by the formulae: ##STR1## wherein B is a carbocyclic ring or rings; T is a 5- or 6-membered ring; Y is a moiety selected from ##STR2## wherein E, positioned ortho or para to said --OH group, is selected from --OH, --NH.sub.2, --NHR', --NR'R" and --NHSO.sub.2 R' wherein R' and R" each are lower alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or aralkyl wherein the aryl portion may be substituted with alkyl groups having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, and E' is hydrogen or a monovalent group that is substituted on one of the remaining carbon atoms; G and G' each are hydroxy or methoxy, provided one is hydroxy and the other is methoxy; and Z and Z' taken individually represent the moieties to complete the chromophoric system of a triarylmethane dye when said N-containing ring, T, is open and Z and Z' taken together represent the bridged moieties to complete the chromophoric system of a bridged triarylmethane dye when said N-containing ring, T, is open; and Y' represents the quinoid form of Y. Preferred embodiments comprise xanthene sulfonamides having N-aryl substituents, e.g., hydroquinone substituents. These compounds possess redox potentials ranging between about +200 to -500 millivolts and thus are useful as dyes for producing photographic, photothermographic, thermal, and pressure-induced images, as well as being useful as redox indicators in a wide variety of biological and chemical reactions.
