A disposable or refillable cartridge for the instrument is also described.

摘要： A writing instrument for a water-metachromatic member has a cylindrical container capable of holding water, formed with an opening at a tip end thereof to communicate the interior of the container with the exterior thereof, a hollow cylindrical holder which directly holds a pen point member, being formed at a tip end with an opening through which the tip end of said pen point member is projected outwardly and at a rear end with a communication hole, and a gap provided between an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical holder and an outer peripheral surface of the rod-like body to form a gap for generating a capillary force therebetween. When the holder is held to the container, water is supplied through said communication hole to said pen point member. When the holder is detached from the container, the opening of the container is usable for water supply.

In the ink container (3) a suction funnel (20) is accommodated which comprises a funnel cone (21) in contact with its outer edge (23) with the inner wall of container (3) and a suction tube (22) which adjoins the funnel cone (21), projects towards the container bottom and terminates just above the latter. In the funnel cone (21) and in the suction tube (22) a suction body (25) is disposed and over the funnel cone (21) there is an ink pad (26) which is in contact with the suction body (25). The suction funnel (20) and the ink pad (26) are fixedly anchored in the ink container (3).

摘要： The disclosure teaches a novel process for adding liquid or fluid to an absorbent article, such as an ink reservoir for marking devices such as marking pencils, and apparatus particularly adapted for carrying out the process. In accordance with the inventive process, the article is placed in a container which communicates with a source of the liquid or fluid at one place in the container, and with a source of reduced pressure at another place in the container. While the liquid or fluid is being provided to the container, the pressure in the container is reduced through the action of the source of reduced pressure to assist in drawing the liquid or fluid into the container by a sucking action. As the liquid or fluid is drawn into the container, it is added to the article contained therein. The apparatus consists of the container which comprises airtight means for communicating with a source of reduced pressure and further airtight means for communicating with a source of the liquid or fluid.
