Abstract:
A method of assembling a wheel rotatable about a main axis and having a plurality of peripheral rollers mounted on peripheral axles aligned tangentially about the wheel and radially spaced from the main axis, each peripheral axle joined to adjacent other peripheral axles to form a continuous ring comprising the peripheral axles, the method including the steps of: molding each peripheral axle in a die having a cylindrical cycle for forming the axle shaft of the peripheral axle without longitudinal separation tines, the peripheral axles each having a receiving head portion for receiving a free end of the axle shaft of an adjacent peripheral axle; mounting a roller on each axle shaft; joining the peripheral axles together to form a continuous ring of peripheral axles; and molding a wheel body including a support structure around the continuous ring.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a controlled contact turf wheel for a turf-care vehicle, wherein the controlled contact turf wheel comprises a plurality of annular ground contact ribs, a plurality of annular grass passage channels disposed between the ribs. The controlled contact turf wheel is structured and operable to allow grass to pass through the channels as the controlled contact turf wheel rolls across the ground without flattening, compressing or compacting the grass against the ground, thereby minimizing residual uncut/partially cut wheel lines in the cut path of the turf-care vehicle.
Abstract:
A foldable caster, particularly suited for use with a swimming pool reel support, is foldable approximately 270.degree. between an operative position and a stowed position and is magnetically or otherwise secured in at least the storage position.
Abstract:
A wheel (1) with an integrally formed wheel frame including a central hub (2) rotatable about a main axis, a plurality of first supports in a first plane transverse to the main axis and radially spaced from the central hub (2) to form a first discontinuous rim with a first series of rollers (4) regularly spaced around the first rim, a plurality of second supports radially spaced from the hub to form a second discontinuous rim with a second series of rollers (5) regularly spaced around the second rim, each rollers having a main body wherein the lateral central cross-sectional diameter is greater then the diameter of the end portions, each roller being rotatable about an axis transverse to the main axis and when viewed from a side elevation, there being substantial overlap of each of the first series of rollers (4) with each diagonally adjacent roller of the second series of rollers (5).
Abstract:
A vertically adjustable wheel assembly for movably supporting an appliance cabinet or the like upon a supporting surface includes a housing, a supporting bracket, a wheel unit, an adjusting rod, an adjusting screw and various elongated mounting members. The wheel unit is defined by a pair of spaced rollers that are interconnected by a reduced diametric portion. The wheel unit is rotatably attached to the support bracket by an axle member, while the adjusting rod is also mounted for rotary movement by the support bracket. The support bracket is pivotally mounted to the housing, with both the wheel unit and the adjusting rod being permitted to rotate relative thereto. The adjusting screw extends through a frontal portion of the housing and it is threadably connected to the adjusting rod such that rotation of the screw causes pivoting of the support bracket relative to the housing and movement of the wheel assembly between fully extended and fully retracted positions. With the rollers of the wheel unit being laterally spaced, the adjusting screw is permitted to extend between the rollers when the adjustable wheel assembly assumes the retracted position. The arrangement represents an extremely compact vertically adjustable wheel assembly that can be advantageously preassembled and attached to a refrigerator cabinet or the like as a unit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the wheel assembly of mowers, particularly to mulching mowers. In the preferred embodiment, each wheel assembly includes a clearing disc sandwiched between a pair of support wheels. The support wheels support the weight of the lawn mower. The clearing disc clears accumulated grass from the wheel assembly by moving between the support wheels as the wheels rotate to clear away grass clippings. The clearing disc has an outside diameter that is greater than the outside diameter of the support wheels and is mounted between the wheels in such a way that the clearing disc continually moves upwardly as the mower is moved.
Abstract:
A walk-behind working tool having a frame, a power source, and a handle attached to the frame is provided. The working tool includes at least one axle operatively connected to the frame and a pair of wheel assemblies connected to the axle. The wheel assemblies include a hub, a rim, a tire, and a flexible vibration dampening assembly that operatively connects the hub and rim, wherein the dampening assembly is configured to reduce the vibration transferred between the rim and hub and through the handle to the operator. The dampening assembly includes a plurality of elastic elements having a spring constant for smoothing out movement of the frame when the working tool is guided over rough or uneven ground.
Abstract:
A caster for rollably supporting a device with respect to a surface is disclosed. The caster includes a body and a rotatable member operably connected to the body. The member is rollably cooperable with the surface. The caster further includes a connector operably connected to the body for connecting the body to the device and a support operably connected to the connector.
Abstract:
Load such as a large screen TV set is supported with improved stability without losing mobility, by providing resilient members such as compression springs between the supporting fiat base whereon the TV set is mounted and plural load supporting bodies which are rollers held vertically movable to some extent. When a strong outside force is applied, for instance, the TV set is strongly pushed from its back, the front rollers are retracted by compression of the spring, thereby the front bottom edge of the console touches the floor and resisting force or reaction force against the fall down of the TV set much increases.
