Abstract:
The invention relates to a spoked wheel aligner and to a method for aligning spoked wheels using said aligner, formed by a box body containing a longitudinally mobile rod which protrudes outside said body, the end of said rod being provided with a disk having a system for detecting the angular position thereof, while the rod has a system for detecting the position of the longitudinal movement thereof, such that by supporting the disk on a side or on the periphery of the rim of a wheel, according to the rotation of said disk and the longitudinal movements of the rod the areas of the wheel which are laterally misaligned or present a deviation from roundness are determined in order to correct same.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for fixing a spoke of a running wheel in the context of trueing, an exemplary device having a clamp (1) with a clamping gap (4) of variable width and a longitudinal axis (L) configured to receive a section of the spoke, wherein driving the clamp (1) narrows the clamping gap (4) so that the section of the spoke can be fixed via force-fitting and/or form-locking, further wherein the device rotationally fixes the section but permits movement of the section in the longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A vehicle wheel comprising a rim, a hub, and a plurality of spokes extending with a span portion between the rim hub. The rim and/or hub constitutes a bracing element. A connecting element is connected to the bracing element and includes an external surface, an internal cavity. A spoke has a longitudinal axis and an external spoke surface that that overlaps the internal cavity in an overlap region, and a pre-formed lateral spoke surface. The connecting element is crimped to create a crimped joinder with the spoke such that the connector surface is pressed and plastically deformed to displace the internal cavity toward the spoke surface in the overlap region to cause a lateral connector surface to laterally overlap the lateral spoke surface to create an overlie engagement and/or to increase a lateral overlap between a lateral connector surface and the lateral spoke surface in an overlie engagement. The overlie engagement supports spoke tensile load.
Abstract:
A for assembling a spoked wheel having a rim, a hub and spokes attaching the rim to the hub includes a base supporting at least three upwardly extending arms terminating is a rim support jaw. The arms pass through eccentric slots in an adjustment plate which is rotationally secured to the base. By rotating the plate relative to the base, the arms are moved radially inward and outward from the rim for both centering it and supporting it so that the spokes and hub are properly positioned and the spokes can be properly tensioned.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel has a hub, an annular wheel rim surrounding the hub, and a plurality of spokes that interconnect the hub and the wheel rim. Each of the spokes includes first and second spoke sections and a coupling seat. The first spoke section has a connecting end portion connected to the hub, and an opposite threaded end portion. The second spoke section has a connecting end portion connected to the wheel rim, and an opposite threaded end portion. The coupling seat is formed with first and second coupling sockets for connecting threadedly and respectively with the threaded end portions of the first and second spoke sections.
Abstract:
An apparatus for mounting spokes between a hub and rim of a spoke wheel comprises a hub support for rotatably supporting the hub and rim support rollers for supporting the rim concentrically around its axis. Motor driven rim rollers cause the rim to rotate about its axis. At least one rotatably driven, substantially radially directed screw driver is arranged for screwing nipples onto corresponding spokes through nipple holes in the rim. A CCD-camera and a measuring wheel are positioned near the screw driver for determining the position of the nipple holes in the rim. Control means serve to control the drive means for successively positioning nipple holes in front of the screw driver. The rim rollers for driving the rim are arranged at a small distance from the screw driver so as to minimize the disturbing movements of the rim at the position of the screw driver.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for assemblying spokes to rim of a wheel, wherein the spokes are oriented in a radial manner and then are arranged in a predetermined posture so that the spokes are fixed to a rim of a wheel.
