摘要： An articulating soft front cockpit cover assembly including an auxiliary tensioning link, coupling link and cross-car bow. A pivot point rotatable joining the auxiliary tensioning link and coupling link is located at the top of the auxiliary tensioning link. A bracket is provided on the auxiliary tensioning link or coupling link and extends cross-car and attaches to the front or rear edge of the cross-car bow. The soft front cockpit cover assembly in sealing engagement with a rearward top portion of a roof. The articulating portion movable between at least a closed position over about the front vehicle cockpit and at least one open position for an open-air feel.

摘要： A Z-fold convertible top has a frame supporting a textile cover. The frame includes support in the form of at least one of a pair of pivoted rails rigidly mounted to a bow, stabilizing other pivoted rails. The stability may be employed to displace a quarter window with the rail in a manner that provides a compact top stack packaged in the vehicle body. The stability is also employed to coordinate sealing engagement of the quarter window with a cloth control link pivoted to the vehicle body ground, but displacing the cloth away from the window during retraction. A worm link may enhance interaction between the cloth control link and the rail supporting a quarter window.

The tensioning bar can be displaced about a substantially horizontal swivel axis into a roughly horizontal tensioned position and a roughly upright mounted position. In order to keep the tensioning bar securely in the mounted position a fastening strap is provided, which engages with the tensioning bar that is displaced in the mounted position, and which can be attached to the folding top or the motor vehicle and thus keeps the tensioning bar in the mounted position.

摘要： Apparatus suitable for use in convertible vehicles may include a convertible top comprising a substantially rigid front portion that moves downwardly towards and releaseably engages a windshield frame of the vehicle in order to close the convertible vehicle. At least one dampening device may be disposed at a rear portion of the convertible top and may be operably coupled to the front portion in order to slow downward movement of the front portion during a final phase of a convertible top closing operation. Further, the dampening device may be operably coupled between two pivotably connected linkages provided within the rear portion of the convertible top. The two pivotably connected linkages are preferably arranged and constructed so that the opening distance between the two linkages increases when the front portion is moving downwardly towards the windshield frame.

摘要： A vehicle roof comprises a roof frame and a cover made of flexible material, the roof frame has a pair of main beams each beam extending longitudinally of the vehicle on either side of the passenger compartment, when the roof is erected; the forward ends of the main beams are interconnected by a canopy rail which is adapted to engage and be latched to a windscreen header of the vehicle; at least one bow spans the main beams at a position spaced longitudinally rearwardly of the canopy rail, said bow when the roof is erected extending above the common plane of the main beams; the main beams are hinged at one or more positions along their lengths and linkage mechanisms are provided on each side of the roof frame to control folding of the roof frame as it is moved between an erected and lowered position, power means is provided to move the roof frame between its erected and lowered positions; a linkage mechanaism is provided to retract said bow towards the common plane of the main beams during movement of the roof frame from its lowered to its raised position and to extend the bow above the plane of the main beams to tension the cover when the canopy rail has been latched to the windscreen header.

摘要： A retractable folding top for motor vehicles, having a top frame which comprises a material retaining hoop forming the lower termination of the top, and a top storage box for accommodating the folded top. The top storage box can be closed by a top storage box lid, following which it is held shut by a closure. The top has a position of rest of the material retaining hoop on the top storage box lid when the top is closed, in which the material retaining hoop is noncontinuously connected to the top storage box lid via a closure arrangement. To simplify operation, the closure arrangement between the material retaining hoop and the top storage box lid has only a single closure which is arranged in the central region of the overlap zone between the top storage box lid and the material retaining hoop.
