摘要: A door rail surround assembly incorporating an anti-rotation feature added to a door rail clamp of the assembly. The anti-rotation feature is a net fit cross vehicle with a hole in the vehicle sport bar thereby eliminating any free movement of the door rail clamp assembly. A second clamp is rotatable for also receiving a fastener of the door rail clamp. A clamp load is applied to the vehicle when the fastener is inserted and torqued to its predetermined value. This clamping load prevents any free movement in the door rail clamp assembly when the door seal load is applied when the vehicle door is closed.

摘要: A multi-component open-air vehicle roof structured to have a retractable enclosure storage compartment along a length of a driver's and passenger's side of the roof, and retractable enclosures to be supported and protected by the retractable enclosure storage compartments, and a rear-side retractable enclosure with a choice of having either rear-side roof supports shaped to act as a storage compartment or having a rear-side compartment as part of the rear-side edge area of the roof, either to act as a roof support storage compartment for the rear-side retractable enclosure when it is retracted. On each roof side there is a wing valence support for supporting a decorative valence and an optional lighting system. The retractable enclosures may be powered or manually controlled. The roof's ribbed, single-ply construction provides for a stronger roof with a plurality of storage compartments for a plurality of accessories within the ribs.

摘要: A spring assist mechanism is disclosed for aiding manual deployment of a collapsible soft top that has a frame incorporating a back bow that includes spaced side struts joined at upper ends by a crossbar. The spring assist mechanism includes a bracket securable to the body of the vehicle on one side thereof. A pivot pin extends from the bracket to a distal end and a pivot plate is rotatably supported on the pivot pin. An attachment feature is fixed to the pivot plate displaced from the pivot pin and the pivot plate forms an attachment arm configured to be fixed to a lower end of one of the side struts. The pivot plate thus facilitates pivotal movement of the side strut and back bow between a generally vertical deployed configuration and a generally horizontal stowed configuration. A biasing member, which can be a coil spring, has a first end fixed relative to the bracket and a second end coupled to the attachment feature. The biasing member is configured to urge the pivot plate and an attached side strut and back bow toward the deployed configuration thereby aiding manual deployment of the soft top. Spring assist mechanisms may be disclosed on both sides of the vehicle if desired.

A load-bearing support is articulated pivotably on a folding top bearing, and has a guide slot, at an end opposite the folding top bearing.
