In an illustrative method of use, a boat operator may load and/or unload the boat into the water from the enclosed boat trailer without leaving the boat and without additional personnel.

    摘要： Disclosed herein is a combination motor home and houseboat in one mobile unit, said unit including a lower portion that is a partial motor home, and an invertable upper unit that is a complete houseboat. The float portion of the houseboat forms the entire roof of the combination motor home and houseboat when they are together as one unit, and provides a walkway around the house in the waterborne configuration of the houseboat. When the two units are together they form a full size motor home with access to each other by connecting doorways. When the upper unit is to be used as a houseboat, hydraulic rams on the motor home portion are used to invert the houseboat portion and place it into the water.

    摘要： A boat hull of the type including an upwardly opening interior bounded by generally horizontal deck surfaces is provided together with a cover structure for the boat of predetermined shape including downwardly facing marginal edges. Support structure is provided and supports the cover structure relative to the boat hull for shifting between a closed position with the downwardly facing marginal edges of the cover at least closely overlying the horizontal deck surfaces and closing the interior from above and an open position affording access to the interior of the boat hull from above. A first form of cover includes a forward portion pivotally supported from the bow stop of a trailer upon which the boat hull is supported with the cover oscillatable about a horizontal transverse axis. In a second form of the invention, the cover comprises a pair of opposite side cover sections supported from corresponding front and rear opposite side uprights of the associated trailer and the cover sections are mounted from the uprights for vertical shifting therealong and swinging relative thereto about horizontal longitudinal axes extending between the corresponding uprights. Finally, a third form of the invention includes a forward portion pivotally supported from the bow of the associated boat with the cover being angularly displaceable about a horizontal transverse axis relative to the boat and removable therefrom.

    摘要： A deflector for attaching to forward portions of an open frame boat trailer to deflect road debris thrown rearwardly from the wheels of a vehicle towing the trailer comprises a generally trapezoidally-shaped deflecting member, major portions of which are flat. A forward edge portion of the member, which forms the shorter of the parallel sides of the trapezoid, is inclined upwardly and forwardly; whereas, an opposite rearward edge portion is inclined downwardly and rearwardly. Swept back side edges are inclined upwardly and generally outwardly and forwardly. The flat portion of the member rests upon, and is attached to, generally longitudinal beams of the trailer. The deflector is positioned rearwardly of the trailer hitching portion and extends rearwardly to beneath upswept bow portions of a boat carried on the trailer. The inclined edge portions of the deflector increase deflection efficiency while minimizing deflector size, and also add rigidity to the deflector. The deflector whose size and shape is relatively independent upon the type of trailer and type of boat to be carried on the trailer may be attached to existing trailers or built onto new trailers during manufacture.

    摘要： Combination house and auxiliary trailer apparatus including a frame carried on a pair of wheels and having a main closure mounted thereon. A pair of spaced apart tracks project rearwardly from the main closure and an extendible closure is carried thereon for telescopical receipt in such main closure. An auxiliary trailer is provided with a rear portion that is receivable between such tracks and includes a pair of support wheels and retraction means for retracting such support wheels to an elevated position. Coupling means is provided for coupling the auxiliary trailer to the rear portion of the house trailer whereby the extendible closure may be moved to its retracted position in the main closure and the auxiliary trailer moved into position with its rear portion extending between the tracks. The auxiliary trailer may then be coupled to the house trailer and its support wheels elevated to enable the combination to be towed as a unit from the tongue of the house trailer. When the destination is reached, the retractable wheels may be lowered and the auxiliary trailer uncoupled from the house trailer to thereby free such auxiliary trailer for use independent of the house trailer and enable the extendible closure to be moved rearwardly on the tracks to cooperate with the main closure in providing a composite closed area.
