摘要: A steering angle calculating circuit includes a first neutral point calculating circuit, a second neutral point calculating circuit, and an absolute angle calculating circuit. The first neutral point calculating circuit calculates a motor neutral point (θm01), based on a steering angle detected by a steering sensor and a rotation angle of a motor detected by the relative angle sensor, when a drive source for driving a vehicle is started. The second neutral point calculating circuit calculates a motor neutral point when the steering angle detected by the steering sensor falls within a predetermined angle range in which a specific stroke with respect to the steering angle is constant. After the motor neutral point is calculated by the second neutral point calculating circuit, the absolute angle calculating circuit calculates the steering angle as an absolute angle, using the motor neutral point calculated by the second neutral point calculating circuit.

摘要: A torque compensation apparatus for a Motor Driven Power Steering (“MDPS”) system including: a column torque sensor configured to detect column torque applied to a steering shaft; a steering angle sensor configured to detect a steering angle of a steering wheel; and a controller configured to calculate a compensation ratio by sudden steering, based at least one of the column torque detected by the column torque sensor and a steering angular velocity calculated from the steering angle detected by the steering angle sensor. The basic assist torque outputted from the MDPS system is then compensated for according to the compensation ratio.

摘要: An electric power steering apparatus is provided which can suppress the difference in steering feel between before and after it is allowed to compute an absolute steering angle and which can improve the steering feel. A basic assist control unit sets a basic assist current value. An assist gain setting unit sets assist gain. The assist gain is fixed to a lower limit value less than one before it is allowed to compute the absolute steering angle, and is gradually increased from the lower limit value to one and is then fixed to one after it is allowed to compute the absolute steering angle. An assist gain multiplication unit corrects the basic assist current value by multiplying the basic assist current value by the assist gain.

A compensation control circuit generates the hysteresis control amount and the damping control amount based on a determination flag generated by a hand release determination circuit and indicating whether or not the steering state corresponds to a hand release state. The hand release determination circuit determines whether or not the steering state corresponds to the hand release state based on signs of a steering angle calculated by a steering-angle calculation circuit, a steering angular velocity that is a differential value of the steering angle, and a steering angle acceleration.
