The remotely-engaging handle may comprise a body and a latching assembly that may be securely attached to the body and capable of engaging with a fifth wheel hitch. The latching assembly may comprise a locking member and an actuating member. The actuation of the actuating member may position a portion of the locking member from an unlocked position to a locked position. The locking member may comprise a latching arm rotating about a pivot point and a biasing member operatively attached the body. The biasing member may bias the locking member into a transitory position. In one embodiment, the actuating member may further comprise an electrically-operated button or a software-based interface. In particular embodiment, the locking member may further actuated by a solenoid and the connecting member may further comprise a wireless device.

The truck towing system provides for a first truck to tow a second truck in a back to front relationship, i.e., the front portion of the second truck (the towed truck) is connected or attached to a rear portion of the first truck (the towing truck). The truck towing system includes an upper member to connect with a first truck. A middle member joins the upper member and a lower member in a fixed engagement. The lower member supports a front portion of a second truck. A beam member is engaged to the lower member, and the beam member extends and retracts from an interior of the lower member. The beam member connects to a rear portion of the second truck.

The saddle mount generally includes a pair of laterally spaced support plates and a substantially tubular cross member extending therebetween. Each of the support plates is at least partially disposed inside the cross member at opposing ends thereof and secured therein using at least one dampening or filler plate. The configuration of the support plates in combination with one or more filler plate provides limited yield/deflection of the saddle body during operation and provides a load dissipation function, thereby permitting the support plates to withstand an increased load capacity.

In this respect, the invention shows that at least the joints located at the trailer are to be arranged at a lower level than the ball head of a normal trailer coupling. The distance in height should be considerable, for instance approximately 75 mm. An off-the-road type of vehicle which is adapted to travel on the rough terrain has a pair of frames distributed longitudinally of the vehicle, these frames, for example, forming a cab frame which is adapted to accommodate an operator of the vehicle and a load-carrying frame. A pair of ground-engaging structures such as wheels are associated with the frames to support the latter for travelling movement. A suspension connects one of the ground-engaging structures with the frame associated therewith, and this suspension includes an elastically yieldable structure to provide the possibility of elastic yielding movement in this suspension. A joint structure interconnects the pair of frames so that they are turnable one with respect to the other at least about an axis which extends longitudinally of the vehicle in the direction of travel thereof and which is substantially horizontal when the vehicle is on substantially horizontal ground. A second elastically yieldable structure is operatively connected with this joint structure to provide for elastic yielding resistance to turning of the frames one with respect to the other about the axis of the joint structure.
