摘要： A double articulated truck has a front vehicle module with a drive engine and having at least one wheeled axle driven by the drive engine through a transmission and having a load-bearing bin, the front vehicle module being interconnected in an articulated manner about a first vertical pin to the front of the load-bearing bin. A rear vehicle module is interconnected in an articulated manner about a second vertical pin to the rear of the load-bearing bin, the rear vehicle module having at least one wheeled axle whereby the bin is supported by the front and rear vehicle modules. The rear module only articulates about the second vertical pin when the articulation of the front module to the bin exceeds 30 degrees and then in a synchronous manner. Typically the maximum articulation of the front module is around 42 degrees and the rear module some 13 degrees.

摘要： A system and a method are provided for estimating an actual hitch angle between a vehicle and a trailer. A hitch sensor on the vehicle continuously senses a measured hitch angle and a steering sensor continuously senses a steering angle of steered wheels of the vehicle. A controller determines an offset between the measured hitch angle and the actual hitch angle when the measured hitch angle and the steering angle are substantially constant while the vehicle and trailer are reversing.

摘要： A truck tractor and removable body unit system selectively configurable as a tractor and freight box or an articulated truck-trailer combination includes a truck tractor having a frame supporting a drive axle and a steer axle with a fifth wheel mounted on the frame, and a body unit having a body mounted on a frame, the frame supported by a wheeled axle and having a king pin for releasably engaging the fifth wheel on the truck tractor. The body unit includes a coupling mechanism for releasably coupling the truck tractor frame to constrain lateral movement between the truck tractor and the body unit while allowing relative vertical pivoting movement between the truck tractor and body unit about the king pin and fifth wheel. An adjustable spring mounted to one of the truck tractor and body unit to act between the truck tractor frame and the body unit frame to adjust a loading between the truck tractor frame and body unit.

In one embodiment, the scrubber (24) comprises a front portion (28), a rear portion (28) that is pivotally connected to the front portion (26), and an operator interface (38) associated with the rear portion (28). The scrubber (24) further comprises a solution tank (40) for hold cleaning solution and a recovery tank (42) for holding cleaning solution and entrained debris that is picked up from the floor after the floor has been scrubbed. In one embodiment, a portion (26, 28) of one of the tanks (40, 42) overlies a portion (26, 28) of the other tank (40, 42).

摘要： A tractor unit for wheeled vehicles having fixed draft tongues, the tractor unit including a frame supported at its front end by a pair of laterally spaced steerable drive wheels, and having a supporting leg at its rear end movable between an operative frame supporting position and an inoperative raised position. A support arm extends rearwardly from the frame and is disposed to underlie and support the draft tongue of a vehicle. A locking pin releasably locks the draft tongue to the support arm. The support wheels have generally vertically extending pivot shafts and a generally vertical steering shaft is rotatably carried by the frame intermediate the pivot shafts on a fixed axis. Power transmission mechanism operatively connects the steering shaft with the pivot shafts, and is responsive to rotation of one of the pivot shafts in either direction of steering movement away from a neutral position to rotate the other pivot shaft in the same direction but to a different angular extent.
