Abstract:
An apparatus for transporting and handling a cargo platform is provided. The apparatus includes a frame having a cradle beam that receives the cargo platform. The cradle beam supports a lower surface of the cargo platform. The apparatus further includes a locking mechanism operably associated with the cradle beam and actuates to securely fasten the cargo platform to the frame when the cargo platform is rested upon the cradle beam. The apparatus also includes a plurality of wheel assemblies for wheeling the frame along a ground surface.
Abstract:
A device for engaging a load having apertures in a lower portion of the load, adjacent to its base. The device comprises a frame having first and second ends, a load facing surface, first and second jaws supported on said frame and a jaw positioner operable to secure said jaws in a position where they lock the frame to the load with the load facing surface in contact therewith. The frame is connectable to a at least one frame lifter comprising a wheel supported for reciprocating movement between a first position in which, when the lifter is connected to the frame and the frame is connected to the load, the wheel is above a surface under the load, and a second position in which the wheel engages the surface and supports the frame and the load above the surface.
Abstract:
A hydraulically actuated mobile carrier frame wraps around a storage container of standard size and lifts the container from the ground onto a transport vehicle. The carrier frame subsequently returns the container to the ground. The carrier frame stays with the vehicle. The carrier frame can be expanded transversely to clear the vehicle for loading and unloading, then contracted into notches in the vehicle platform to be releasably locked to the vehicle for over the road transport.
Abstract:
A lifting device for lifting a shipping container off a flat bed of a truck is described. The device comprises a cross member and a pair of arms connected thereto. The upper ends of the arms engage in the connector castings at the upper end of an end of the container. The cross member carries near its ends a pair of guides through which a pair of legs are slidably mounted. The upper end of each leg has an outwardly directed lug. A block and tackle unit is connected between the lug and the cross member. There is a lifting device at each end of the container. When the unit is actuated the container is lifted off the flat bed so that the truck can move away and the container thereafter lowered on to the ground.

Abstract:
A particulate cargo container support apparatus having plural pairs of side-by-side laterally spaced upright post members rotatably supporting shaft members extending therebetween. Hook members are positioned on the rotatable shaft member so as to be movable out of the path of a container on a raised truck bed when the truck is positioned under the support apparatus. A control device in the form of a manually operable handle is connected to an end of the shaft member for effecting the rotation of the shaft member and hook members into and out of the path of the container on the truck bed. The hook members engage the container on the truck bed when the truck bed is lowered. When the truck bed is fully lowered, a vertical, separation between the container and the truck bed is effected. The container is then fully supported on the support apparatus and the truck is free for other uses.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a catalyst comprising a metallic catalytic agent on a particulate carrier is disclosed which provides improved uniformity of distribution and fineness of division with narrowness of particle size distribution of the metallic catalytic agent on the carrier. The carrier is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a salt of the metallic catalytic agent and of a source, on heating in aqueous solution, of hydroxyl ions. The impregnated carrier is heated without substantial loss by evaporation of the aqueous solution to precipitate the metal or the particles with uniformity of distribution and fineness of division with narrowness of particle size distribution. The metal is converted by conventional methods to the appropriate active, oxidized or reduced, state. The process is particularly significant with carriers, such as alumina and silica, that in alkaline media are liable to undergo structural charges.
Abstract:
A mounting assembly for supporting a fuel supply on a vehicle, which is specifically adapted for the operable support and positioning of an auxiliary fuel supply. The vehicle with which the mounting assembly is utilized may vary significantly, but is primarily structured for use on mine haul vehicles, bulldozers, and other heavy duty commercial vehicles, wherein the operation thereof is significantly benefited or enhanced through the provision of an auxiliary, or alternate fuel supply such as, but not limited to, liquid natural gas (LNG), selectively powering the engine of the vehicle as determined by an improved electronic control system. The mounting assembly comprises a containment structure in the form of at least one fuel tank and a housing is structured to enclose the fuel tank. A base supports both the housing and the fuel tank and a shield assembly, associated with the housing protect the fuel tank against impact in the working environment of the vehicle on which the fuel supply and containment structure are disposed.
Abstract:
A container adapted to be lifted by a forklift having a pair of prongs, including a receptacle having a floor, a front wall, a rear wall, and a pair of opposed sidewalls, wherein a front edge, a rear edge and side edges of the floor define a perimeter of the floor. A plurality of bolsters is attached to the floor such that each bolster is within the perimeter, each bolster including a lower panel and a pair of sidewalls extending upwardly to the floor and forming a first entry window configured to slidably receive one of the prongs of the forklift. Each bolster is positioned such that its first entry window is accessible from one of the opposed side edges of the floor, and the prongs of the forklift are slidably receivable between a pair of the bolsters from one of the front edge and the rear edge of the floor.

A hydraulically actuated mobile carrier frame wraps around a storage container of standard size and lifts the container from the ground onto a transport vehicle. The carrier frame subsequently returns the container to the ground. The carrier frame stays with the vehicle or remains in a storage facility for handling containers within the facility. The carrier frame can be expanded transversely to clear the vehicle for loading and unloading.
