摘要: A method and apparatus for discharging food or feed product from a cooler. Food or feed product may be introduced in a cooler formed of a large bin. The product is cooled by drawing a low volume of air having a high static pressure drop through the product. Trough-shaped gates are positionable beneath discharge openings in a lower portion of the bin to inhibit discharge of product. Product is intermittently discharged from the openings by selectively moving the gates at least partially away from the openings to permit product to flow through the openings. In preferred embodiments, a driver moves the gates intermittently in first and second directions by causing the gates to swing about a pivotal mounting point.

摘要: A bulk bag includes a shell and a gate valve assembly and is configured to retain a material. The gate valve assembly includes a gate which is slidable to selectively prevent and facilitate variation of rate of dispensation of material from the bulk bag and, more particularly, through an aperture defined by the shell of the bulk bag. The gate valve assembly has a configuration which, during movement of the gate to restrict dispensation of material through the aperture in the shell, renders the gate unlikely to snag with other portions of the bulk bag such as, for example, portions of the shell which define the aperture. Methods are also provided.

摘要: Apparatus for simultaneously feeding a plurality of sticks to a confectionary mold. The sticks are fed from a storage hopper through spaced openings provided in a fixed bottom plate. A reciprocating plate slidable on the bottom plate within the hopper includes a plurality of openings adapted to be placed in registration with the openings in the bottom plate to dispense the sticks. Should a stick become clogged in an opening, the remaining openings can still be placed in registration to dispense sticks. This is accomplished by dividing the reciprocable, sliding plate into a plurality of sections which are spaced from each other by the dispensing openings in the plate. Side bars connect the sections so they can move as an integral unit. Each section however, has a first and second spring-connected portion. Each portion can move independently of and relative to another so that if a dispensing opening between sections is clogged, the remaining openings in the reciprocable plate and fixed plate may still be placed in registration through movement transmitted by the side bars to the remaining sections of the reciprocable plate while the portions of the section in contact with the clogged stick are contracted towards each other.

摘要: A grain bin access door and chute system that can be retrofitted into existing grain bins or installed in new grain bins. The access panel includes an outer door and an inner door and allows a user to quickly access and assess the grain within a bin without fear of falling into the grain or through the crust of grain which can form a bridge on the top of grain. The access door includes a lever-controlled chute door and pipe-chute connection. This allows grain to be gravity fed into awaiting grain trucks or rail cars without using a more dangerous grain auger and without relying on outside energy sources. Additionally, grain transferred through a gravity-fed method is less likely to become damaged than grain transferred through a grain auger. An optional grain agitator may likewise be installed within the grain bin.

摘要: A valve plate (14) provided with slot-like valve ports (16) is able to slide between two stationary valve plates (10 and 12) which are joined with each other and are provided with corresponding slot-like valve ports (16). A electrostatic drive is integrated in the valve plates (10, 12 and 14). It consists of strip-like electrodes (20 and 22) which are arranged opposite to corresponding electrodes of another valve plate. By the application of suitable actuating potentials with the same or opposite polarity to the electrodes of different valve plates the actuating forces may be produced, which are needed for moving the movable valve plate (14).

摘要: A gravity motivated hopper with the capacity to alleviate arching of granular material contained in the hopper. The hopper has a lower section defining a flow path which is vertically oriented with vertically decreasing horizontal cross-sectional areas leading to a bottom opening. In the proximity of the bottom opening is a first gate mechanism. The first gate is located below the critical arching cross-sectional flow area of the granular material, and functions to restrain the material during charging of the hopper and hopper transport, or permit flow of the material from the hopper during hopper discharge. Placed above the bottom gate is a second gate mechanism. The second gate is placed above the critical arching cross-sectional flow area for the particular granulated material. The second gate allows a certain volume of granular material to pass through during charging of the hopper while supporting the remaining portion of the granular material to deprive the granular material of arching condition during hopper charge and transport. The second gate will further permit unobstructed hopper discharge of the granular material.
