Abstract:
A container for the working and transportation of food product waste includes a shell configured for removable disposition within a refuse collection vehicle. The shell includes an opening for receiving product, and a cover for sealing the opening except when open to permit product to be added to container. The cover may be operably connected to a lift and invert mechanism on the refuse collection vehicle for coordinated operation. A working and transfer mechanism is disposed within the container to work food product waste prior to delivery of same to a processing facility, and to facilitate removal of the worked food product waste from the container through an output port of the container as part of the delivery of same. This mechanism has two or more augers each located in an adjacent trough with a dividing wall therebetween. A recirculation chute is located at an output end of the container.
Abstract:
A transportable and interchangeable tank for collecting and disposing of mud, slurry or other fluid waste material adapted to be transported on a transport vehicle having an air evacuation connection specially adapted to connect directly to and seal with a complementarily connection of a vacuum pump on the vehicle, whereby the connective dead space between the tank and the pump is substantially minimised in order to improve the efficiency of evacuating air from and thus filling the tank.
Abstract:
Rear loading, rear-discharging refuse truck bodies are disclosed which also serve as sealed, stackable, transportable containers. The truck bodies of the invention include a loading or charging hopper mounted in a vertically opening tailgate which closes a storage receptacle. The loading hopper is mounted so that it can be deployed during collection efforts and retracted when not in use to enable the body to be transformed into or assume the shape of a modular container box that is removable from the truck chassis much as a maritime shipping container. The truck bodies in this modular container box configuration are capable of self sealing and are transportable and stackable as interchangeable modular units separate from the truck chassis. The truck bodies of the invention include hydraulic cylinders connected to raise the tailgate and a conventional ejector panel to discharge the packed contents with the tailgate raised.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a vehicle with a collecting container which can be picked up and set down and is intended for pourable solids, in particular waste material. The container is arranged behind the driver's cab and has, at least in the area where the container end faces the driver's cab, a filling opening, open at the top, and a pressure plate extending inside. The vehicle also has a swivel arm arrangement which is pivotable across the driver's cab, picks up and empties containers and is articulated to a support frame arranged behind the driver's cab and connected securely to the vehicle chassis. The actuating means for the swivel arm arrangement and at least one thrust cylinder for displacing the pressure plate and locking means for fixing the collecting container to the support frame are arranged on the support frame.
Abstract:
An improved garbage truck is disclosed having an inlet opening leading into a tipping section, where a press reciprocally moves in the tipping section, guided along the side walls thereof, to propel garbage through an opening into a removable container. The tipping section has at least one lateral arm or wall reinforcing the side walls of the tipping section and is arranged above the press. A sensing element is arranged in the tipping section with generates a signal when there is a jam or when there are tilted or bulky objects, the signal stops the travel of the press or reverses the direction of the press to prevent damage to the garbage truck.
Abstract:
A refuse collection vehicle of a rear loading type which comprises a dumper frame mounted on the rear of a vehicle chassis a container interchangeably mounted on the dumper frame and having a refuse receiving opening at the rear, a tailgate loading hopper supported at the rear of the container for pivotal movement between raised and lowered positions and formed with a discharge opening and a rear opening substantially opposed to the discharge opening, and a packer plate assembly housed in the tailgate loading hopper for compressing and transferring refuse dumped into the rear opening.
Abstract:
A bin tipper includes a vertical support column, a cam track adjacent to the vertical support column, a structural member mounted to and configured to translate along the vertical support column, and a gripper assembly including a gripper mount having gripper arms mounted thereon that are configured to receive and hold a collection bin. The cam track includes a proximal portion parallel to the vertical support column and a distal portion provided at an angle with respect to the vertical support column. A first end of the gripper mount is pivotally mounted to the structural member and a second end of the gripper mount includes a cam follower extending therefrom that is configured to move within the proximal and distal portions of the cam track. The gripper assembly lifts and inverts the collection bin based on a position of the cam follower of the gripper mount within the cam track.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improved system and method for delivering and backhauling cargo to and from a destination. The present invention generally comprises a first and second truck that are in an outbound configuration to deliver a cargo to at least one location. The first and second truck each have at least one flatbed section. After the cargo has been delivered, the first and second truck assume a return configuration wherein the second truck and second truck flatbed is stored on and secured to the at least one flatbed section of the first truck for a backhaul destination for the second truck. It is important to note that no portion of the second truck and second truck flatbed section in the return configuration is in contact with the ground, they are only in contact with the first truck flatbed section.
Abstract:
A refuse disposal system includes a relatively small refuse collection truck including a chassis and a hopper, including a packer, for receiving refuse. A body has a bottom, side walls, and a cover and defines an opening in a side wall. The chassis includes detachment and manipulation apparatus with the body being detachably mounted on the detachment and manipulation apparatus in communication with the opening for moving refuse thereto with the body in a collecting position. The detachment and manipulation apparatus is designed to move the body from the collecting position to a hauling position and to detach the body in the hauling position. A relatively large haul vehicle has a chassis with a plurality of body receiving frames mounted thereon positioned to receive the body from the collecting truck when the body is moved by the detachment and manipulation apparatus from the collecting position to the hauling position.
