    摘要: An air drive for a conveyor comprising an air cylinder having air entry ports at each end and a valve to control air flow into the cylinder. The valve is actuated by a cam which is mounted on a crankshaft attached to the piston rod. As the piston reciprocates in the cylinder the cam oscillates, changing the operational position of the valve in accordance with the position of the piston. Also mounted on the crankshaft is a unidirectional clutch which in turn drives a conveyor in interrupted single direction motion.

    摘要: In a stepwise drive mechanism of the type comprising a pair of endless coying members, such as for example metal chains, which are formed of a magnetic or magnetizable material, with gripping elements mounted thereon and in which the conveying members are located parallel to one another with the gripping elements fixed temporarily to a plastic film in which receptacles are formed and traverse a machine for processing food and/or pharmaceutical products having different work stations positioned at intervals whose length is a multiple of the feed steps of the drive mechanism, a drive is provided for synchronously driving the conveying members. This drive includes drive wheels respectively located in contact with a corresponding conveying member or chain along a predetermined arc and a drive arrangement for intermittently rotating the drive wheels through an elementary angular displacement which corresponds to a feed step of the conveying members. The conveying members are applied, along a predetermined arc, to their associated drive wheels over at least a contact surface area located on the peripheral portion of their associated drive wheels. A magnetic arrangement is provided in the driving wheel for producing a system of magnetic forces whose directions are substantially perpendicular to the contact surface area and whose resultant intensity is sufficient to prevent relative movement of the driving wheel and its associated conveying member. The contact surface area is annular and rotates about the axis of rotation of the drive wheel, with the drive wheel. The magnets in the drive wheels attract and hold the conveying members or chains to the contact surface of the driving wheels along the predetermined arc under the action of the magnetic pull which they produce.

    摘要: The invention relates to a drive device for intermittent driving of a conveyor that partly surrounds a drum rotatable around a centre axis. The drive device includes drive member and motion transmission member. According to the invention, the drive member is arranged to execute a reciprocating motion. The motion transmission member, in the motion of the drive member in a first direction, is arranged to impart the drum a rotary motion in a first rotary direction and impart the conveyor a motion. Further, the motion transmission member, in the motion of the drive member in a second direction, is arranged to impart the drum a rotary motion in a second rotary direction in such a way that the conveyor is at rest. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.

    摘要: A drive apparatus for a mail-processing system is specified, which apparatus has an enclosure-collating path, which is intermittently driven at least in one end section, an adjoining inserting station for sets of enclosures and an envelope-filling table, which extends parallel to the enclosure-collating path and in front of the inserting station and over which envelopes pulled from a stack of envelopes are pulled by means of an envelope-gripper chain in front of the inserting station and held open there and, once filled with the sets of enclosures, are conveyed away by the gripper chain. A reduction of mass moments of inertia of the drive for the envelope-gripper chain together with simplification of the structure of this drive and a conveying system of a modular design are achieved by a drive section as a chain drive or toothed-belt drive being guided downwards from an intermittently rotating drive shaft out of the region of the enclosure-collating path to a chain wheel or a belt pulley which is mounted in a substructure of the envelope-filling table. From there, a chain drive or toothed-belt drive leads in the substructure of the envelope-filling table to a chain wheel or a toothed-belt pulley which is mounted at the free end of a rocker, the free end of the rocker undergoing an approximately vertically oriented guidance in the substructure of the installation, while the upper end of the rocker is supported and mounted coaxially in relation to a drive shaft for the envelope-gripper chain on the envelope-filling table which is displaceable in relation to the substructure. A chain drive transmits the intermittent drive movement finally from the lower end of the rocker to the upper end of the rocker, onto the drive shaft which is coaxial to the rocker pivoting axis and is intended for the driving-chain wheel of the envelope-gripper chain.
