    摘要： A packing machine for making filled and sealed bags from superposed wrapper sheets, has a pair of cooperating sealing rollers for providing longitudinal seams on the superposed wrapper sheets passed therebetween; a mechanism for rotating unidirectionally the sealing rollers in first and second consecutive steps for providing the longitudinal seams in two consecutive length portions, each corresponding to one-half of the predetermined length; a pair of cooperating sealing shoes movable towards and away from one another for assuming, respectively, a sealing position to provide a transverse seam on the superposed wrapper sheets and an idling position; and a mechanism for moving the sealing shoes, while in the sealing position, codirectionally with the travelling direction of the wrapper sheets during a period in which one of the two steps is performed and for moving the sealing shoes, while in the idling position, against the travelling direction during a period in which the other of the two steps is performed.

    摘要： A lift mechanism for simplifying the raising and lowering of a machine component has a base and a frame structure. The lift mechanism may include a lift arrangement interposed between the base and the frame structure that allows for the raising and lowering of the frame structure about a single lift point. The lift mechanism may also include various shafts, drive members, links, and arms, which in combination translate rotational movement of a motor into linear vertical motion. For instance, a drive link and an arm may be rotatably attached to one another, as well as a drive shaft and a second shaft. Additionally, a drive member may be associated with the motor. In operation, the drive member may be rotated by the motor, and a drive belt transmits rotation of the drive member to the drive shaft, the second shaft, the drive link, and the arm.

    摘要： RFID tags pre-installed on bale wrap segments provide location information for a specific area of the bale wrap. RFID tag readers located on the cotton harvester provide signals for use by the module wrapping apparatus for initiating a cutting or separating operation, once a module has been wrapped, and for warning an operator of a situation where the wrapping function has not proceeded in an orderly fashion after a signal for starting the wrapping function has been received. A wrapped module carries the pre-installed RFID tags which are readable by RFID readers carried by module handlers in the field and/or at the gin input which identify the modules and establish a position to which the module may be automatically oriented so that an ideal module wrap cutting location is easily calculated. The RFID tag reading taken in the field or at the gin thus senses the number on the tag as well as the location of the tag, and the module identification is input to an electronic database.

    摘要： An arrangement for metering and filling plastic bags with thin and thick liquids. A rotary member is intermittently indexed and carries a plurality of jaws equipped with suction means for holding the bag to be filled at the open edges. Metering cylinders fill the bag with a predetermined quantity of liquid, after which the bag is sealed through thermopulse welding. Indexing is accomplished through a maltese-cross device which is indexed and stopped through a cam-operated indexing mechanism. The indexing mechanism also operates the metering cylinders. A closure device closes the bag after filling and before indexing the rotary member to the next station.

    摘要： Flattened cartons are opened into erected positions by a setup and control unit as the cartons are drawn downwardly from a magazine into a transfer station by a transfer device. Thereafter, the cartons are shoved laterally out of the transfer station and onto a conveyor by a pusher and, as an incident to such shoving, are shifted into and latched in overcenter positions by the setup unit in order that complete control of the cartons may be maintained without danger of the cartons reassuming their flattened conditions during their transfer to the conveyor. A drive mechanism reciprocates the transfer device up and down between the transfer station and the magazine and operates with a differential action to cause the transfer device to dwell for a relatively long interval just below the cartons in the transfer station thereby to eliminate the need for precisely controlling the time of release of the cartons from the transfer device.
