    摘要: A sheet material feeder and an image forming apparatus in which, even when a sheet of thick paper is transported through a sharply curved sheet material guide, the sheet can be adjusted to a lateral registry position. A base plate, a movable lower guide and a movable upper guide can slide in a direction perpendicular to the direction of sheet transport in union with each other. Where a sheet material stopped at a lateral registry adjustment position is a sheet of thick paper, it is brought into a tightly stretching condition supported at three points, i.e., a crotch point of the movable upper guide, a top of the movable lower guide, and a guide surface of a regulation-side lateral register plate. The sheet material supported from both sides at the three points is moved together with the movable lower guide and the movable upper guide toward a reference-side lateral register plate for abutment against the same, whereby the lateral registry position adjustment of the sheet material is completed.

    摘要: An equalizer roll to be used in manufacturing for providing equal tension across a web during winding operations such as used in polymer film applications, corrugators, paper machines, printing presses, cloth winders, and metal winding operations. A common axis shaft is mounted horizontally on two bearings or clamped rigid supports allowing for rotation. Mounted in the center of the axis shaft is a bearing assembly having convex and concave portions disposed within a sleeve. The bearing assembly is centrally mounted inside a hollow cylinder or roll machined to be in balance with respect to the centrally disposed bearing assembly. The mating of the concave and convex portions of the bearing permits a selected degree of lateral rotation in a range of from about 1 degree to about 10 degrees. As the web runs over the roll, any imbalance of lateral tension will cause the roll to pivot at it's center permitting the roll to move upward on the side of least tension until the web tension is equalized across the entire roll.

    摘要: A device for guiding a strip so that it is kept in a predetermined lateral position as the strip moves from a supply to a take up reel. The device includes mechanical sensors sensing the lateral edges of the strip, the sensors being coupled by a differential linkage system to a frame in which is mounted a pair of rollers, one each side of the strip and in contact therewith. The frame is pivoted about an axis perpendicular to the strip so that if the strip shifts laterally the sensors move the differential linkage to pivot the frame and thereby cause the rollers, one of which is driven or braked, to impart a component of motion to the strip to move it back to its initial position.

    摘要: A centerline detector for a tubular knit fabric lay cutter table. The apparatus includes a nearside side edge compressor for determining the position of the nearside edge of the fabric lay and providing a signal representative of the nearside edge. The apparatus also includes a farside side edge compressor for determining the position of the farside edge of the fabric lay and providing a signal representative of the farside edge. A controller is connected to the nearside side edge compressor and the farside side edge compressor for receiving the signal representative of the nearside edge and the signal representative of the farside edge and calculating a first centerpoint of the fabric lay. In the preferred embodiment the centerline detector makes at least two measurements along a length of the fabric lay. The multiple measurements of the centerpoint of the fabric lay can then be used to calculate the centerline of the fabric lay between the two points as well as the centerline angle with respect to the edge of the cutter table. This information can be used by the cutter table to adjust the layout of the fabric garment pieces that the cutter will be used to cut.

    摘要: An equalizing roll and web tracking apparatus to be used in manufacturing for providing equal tension across a web during winding operations such as used in polymer film applications, corrugators, paper machines, printing presses, cloth winders, and metal winding operations. The equalizing roll utilizes a common axis shaft mounted horizontally on two bearings or clamped rigid supports allowing for rotation. Mounted in the center of the axis shaft is a bearing assembly having convex and concave portions disposed within a sleeve. The bearing assembly is centrally mounted inside a hollow cylinder or roll machined to be in balance with respect to the centrally disposed bearing assembly. The mating of the concave and convex portions of the bearing permits a selected degree of lateral rotation in a range of from about 1 degree to about 10 degrees. As the web runs over the roll, any imbalance of lateral tension will cause the roll to pivot at it's center permitting the roll to move upward on the side of least tension until the web tension is equalized across the entire roll. The equalizing roll tracking apparatus utilizes an adjustable control arm assembly having a pair of adjustable pivot arms with steering arms linked to sensor arms. The distal ends of the sensor arms are in contact with the outer edges of a web, sheet, or belt of material supported by at least one idler roll and utilizing at least one equalizing roll. The steering arms float on the outer diameter of the equalizing roll. The sensor arms are pivotally linked to the steering arms so that the misalignment of the belt, sheet or web moves the sensor arms slightly causing the steering arms to pivot and exert pressure on the equalizing roll thereby counteracting and aligning the direction of the web, belt, or sheet of material supported thereby.

The transport rollers 10 which are positioned first in the transport direction of the printing plate 33 are installed on pivoting blocks 5, which are pivoted outwardly before the printing plate 33 is deposited and, after the printing plate 33 has been deposited, are swung into contact, in order to take over the roller-transport, together with the remaining rollers. As soon as the printing plate 33 has reached its exposure position, the roller rails 4, 4' are, in their entirety, swung away from the exposure table 1, parallel to themselves, thus enabling the printing plate 33 to be exposed out to its outer edge without hindrance.
