Abstract: A process for producing syngas that uses the syngas product from an oxygen-fired reformer to provide all necessary heating duties, which eliminates the need for a fired heater. Without the flue gas stream leaving a fired heater, all of the carbon dioxide produced by the reforming process is concentrated in the high-pressure syngas stream, allowing essentially complete carbon dioxide capture.

Abstract: A plant for removing CO2 from a fluid stream via an aqueous absorption medium contains a) a first absorption zone for treating the fluid stream with a partially regenerated absorption medium, b) a second absorption zone for treating the treated fluid stream with a regenerated absorption medium, c) a first flash vessel for depressurizing the loaded absorption medium, d) a second flash vessel for depressurizing the sub-partially regenerated absorption medium, e) a stripper for thermally regenerating the partially regenerated absorption medium, f) a conduit for feeding a substream of the partially regenerated absorption medium into the first absorption zone and a conduit for feeding a further substream of the partially regenerated absorption medium into a stripper, g) a conduit for recirculating the regenerated absorption medium to the second absorption zone, and h) a jet pump for compressing the water vapor-comprising, second CO2-comprising gas stream.

Abstract: A steam methane reformer-integrated fuel cell system includes: at least one fuel cell including: an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte matrix separating the anode and the cathode; an anode gas oxidizer (AGO) configured to receive anode exhaust gas from the at least one fuel cell and a preheated air stream such that the anode exhaust gas reacts with the preheated air stream to produce a high-temperature exhaust stream, and configured to provide the high-temperature exhaust stream to the cathode of the at least one fuel cell; and a steam methane reformer configured to utilize heat from the high-temperature exhaust stream output from the AGO and to react methane with steam to produce a first product stream including hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2), and carbon monoxide (CO).

Abstract: In a process for separating a mixture containing carbon monoxide, hydrogen and carbon dioxide, the mixture cooled in a heat exchanger is contacted by a stream of liquid methanol at a temperature below −40° C. to produce carbon dioxide enriched methanol and a carbon dioxide depleted gas relative to the cooled mixture, the carbon dioxide depleted gas is cooled in the heat exchanger and is sent to a separation unit to produce a carbon monoxide enriched stream and a hydrogen enriched stream and the streams enriched in carbon monoxide and hydrogen are heated in the heat exchanger by exchanging heat with the mixture.

Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing syngas including (S1) heat-treating organic wastes under a catalyst in a first reactor to produce a first mixed gas; (S2) separating the catalyst and carbon dioxide (CO2) from the first mixed gas, and recovering a mixed gas from which the catalyst and the carbon dioxide (CO2) have been removed; (S3) converting the carbon dioxide (CO2) separated in (S2) into carbon monoxide (CO) by a reverse Boudouard reaction in a second reactor; and (S4) mixing the mixed gas recovered in (S2) and the carbon monoxide (CO) converted in (S3) to produce syngas.

Abstract: A process for producing syngas that uses the syngas product from a partial oxidation reactor to provide all necessary heating duties, which eliminates the need for a fired heater. Soot is removed from the syngas using a dry filter to avoid a wet scrubber quenching the syngas stream and wasting the high-quality heat. Without the flue gas stream leaving a fired heater, all of the carbon dioxide produced by the reforming process is concentrated in the high-pressure syngas stream, allowing essentially complete carbon dioxide capture.
