    摘要: Nanoscale particles of benzimidazolone pigments are made by providing one or more organic pigment precursor(s) to a benzimidazolone pigment, providing a solution or suspension of a sterically bulky stabilizer compound that associates non-covalently with a benzimidazolone moiety on one of the pigment precursors, wherein the sterically bulky stabilizer compound is selected from the group consisting of substituted pyridine derivatives, alkylated benzimidazolone compounds, alkylated derivatives of aromatic acids, and mixtures thereof, and carrying out a coupling reaction to form a benzimidazolone pigment composition, whereby one or more functional moieties on the benzimidazolone pigment is non-covalently associated with the sterically bulky stabilizer, so as to limit an extent of particle growth and aggregation and results in nanoscale pigment particles.

    摘要: The invention relates to iminoisoindolinone pigments of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is halogen, Y and Z are halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, or aryloxy, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, and A is phenyl which can be substituted by halogen, trifluoromethyl, C.sub.1- C.sub.2 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, or by a group of the formula --CONHR.sub.3 or --NHCOR.sub.4, wherein R.sub.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1- C.sub.2 alkyl, or phenyl which can be substituted by halogen, methyl, methoxy or trifluoromethyl, and R.sub.4 is phenyl which can be substituted by halogen, methyl or methoxy, or is C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, or A is a heterocyclic radical. These pigments are distinguished by particulary excellent color strength and fastness to migration and are suitable for pigmenting organic material of high molecular weight.

    摘要: An ink composition, such as a nonpolar liquid or phase change (solid) ink composition, that includes a non-polar carrier, and a nanoscale pigment particle composition. The nanoscale pigment particle composition includes a benzimidazolone pigment and a sterically bulky stabilizer compound, which is an alkylated-benzimidazolone compound, associated non-covalently with the benzimidazolone pigment. The presence of the associated stabilizer limits an extent of particle growth and aggregation, to afford nanoscale pigment particles.
