    摘要: An apparatus and method for producing a shifted angle fabric and the product produced thereby. The apparatus includes a supply of fabric and a differential tenter frame. The differential tenter frame includes a frame, a pair of opposed, constant path rails and a differential drive. The differential tenter frame is located downstream from the supply of fabric for receiving the opposing edges of the fabric and advancing the opposing edges at different speeds to shift the weft angle of the fabric as the fabric travels the length of the differential tenter frame. A high velocity, low heat drying range adjacent to the differential tenter frame simultaneously dries the fabric as the fabric travels the length of the differential tenter frame. A take-up roll downstream from the differential tenter frame then takes up the dried fabric.

    摘要: A guide track for a tentering chain carrying tentering clamps supports the clamps by a number of rollers to form a tentering frame, especially for a film stretching machine. The guide track is an endless track with U-turns in which a single semicircle type of U-turn has been replaced by a U-turn including two partial curved sections each having a smaller radius of curvature and the two curved sections are interconnected by a straight intermediate section. The reversing or looping curved section at the beginning of the reverse run is so constructed that at this location a drive sprocket wheel can mesh with the tentering chain. Thus, the drive sprocket which was a source of contamination for the web is located remote from the web to thereby substantially reduce any possibilities of contaminating the web.

The rail assemblies are arranged consecutively along a guide path, and have parallel guide channels for the advancing and returning legs of continuous chains carrying the clamps that grip the edges of the webs being transversely stretched. The joint includes flexible bands arranged to define intermediate channels connecting the guide channels of the rail assemblies. The flexible bands are resiliently deflected in response to articulation of the rail assemblies to thereby arcuately configure the outer medicate channels.
