摘要:
A centrifugal grinder has an internal grinding surface shaped as a surface of revolution, and a rotor mounted within the surface for rotation about the axis of the grinding surface. The rotor defines a generally axial inlet passageway for wood chips to be ground, and at least one pocket extending generally outwardly from the axis of the rotor toward the grinding surface. The pocket is provided with a configuration such that its cross section increases at an increasing rate away from the rotor axis. This encourages the wood chips to orient themselves parallel to the grinding surface, such that they take up such parallel orientation by the time they reach the grinding surface.

The speed of feed movement of a piston is controlled to an essentially constant value by direct digital measurement of the actual speed, by comparing the actual value to a preset value and by compensating for differences therebetween. Variations in the piston feed pressure and in the grinding power are taken into account by means of additional signals related to these factors and added to or subtracted from the signal representing the actual value of the speed of the piston.

摘要:
The disclosure concerns both a process and an apparatus for producing wood pulp. Wood to be pulped is fed into a housing where the wood is ground. The housing is pressurized above atmospheric pressure. Water at a temperature over 100.degree. C. is fed to the pressurized housing in the grinding zone. The wood pulp produced by grinding is collected and is conveyed through a worm conveyor which causes the water in the pulp to be removed therefrom, while the pulp and the water removed therefrom are maintained at elevated pressure. The water under pressure is returned to the grinding zone in the housing. The wood pulp is thereafter returned to atmospheric pressure. Various pressure lock devices for transmitting the wood pulp from being under pressure to atmospheric pressure are disclosed including a nozzle, a pressure lock device, a hydrocyclone and/or a disc refiner.

Apparatus for treating milling products to recover steam energy which includes a rotor having at least one pocket therein which is rotatably mounted within a housing so that the pocket is sequentially brought into open communication with a material inlet, milling product discharge opening, and steam outlet and wherein milling product received into the pocket when aligned with the material inlet is discharged through the milling product discharge opening and the steam separated therefrom thereafter discharged through the steam outlet. The discharged milling product is subsequently conveyed through a steam tight discharge device.

A method of regulating a grinding process in a pocket grinder pressing a wood batch in at least one pocket against a rotating grindstone with a grinding plate movable in the pocket calculates the apparent pulp quantity produced at measuring points at fixed intervals of the grinding stroke and changes in the wood batch density which occur during the grinding stroke. The value thus calculated is compared with a target value for the pulp quantity to be produced and the grinding process regulated thereby to reach the target value. To make the pulp quantity produced as even as possible, the calculated value of the apparent pulp quantity produced is corrected in relation to the hydraulic pressure used during the grinding stroke.
摘要:
A method of controlling a grinding process in a pocket grinder in which a batch of wood in at least one pocket is pressed against a rotating grindstone by a pressure shoe displaceable in the pocket. At predetermined intervals an apparently produced amount of pulp is calculated at separate measuring points of the grinding stroke of the pressure shoe and the specific energy consumption calculated on the basis of this amount of pulp is compared to a target figure for the specific energy consumption. The batch grinding is adjusted depending on a deviation of the specific energy consumption from the target figure. The compaction of the batch in the pocket during the stroke of the pressure shoe is taken into account in the grinding adjustment by correcting the calculated apparently produced amount of pulp in relation to a change in the density of the batch to be ground so that the fluctuations in the fineness of the pulp produced at separate measuring points of the pressure shoe are maintained as small as possible during the grinding stroke of the pressure shoe.

Apparatus for continuously processing wood comprises a pressurized grinding chamber, a grinding stone which is mounted for rotation in the grinding chamber, a device for feeding wood into the grinding chamber to form a primary groundwood stock therein, and a device for discharging the primary groundwood stock from the chamber without allowing gas to escape from the chamber to atmosphere. The discharging device comprises a stick crusher for crushing sticks present in the primary groundwood stock thereby to produce a secondary groundwood stock and an outlet for continuously discharging the secondary groundwood stock while preserving a hydraulic seal of groundwood stock thereby to maintain the groundwood stock in the apparatus under superatmospheric pressure.

Disclosed is a process for producing stone groundwood pump from wood chips, by compressing a wood chip mass into an apparent volume corresponding to 70% or less, preferably, from 40 to 60%, of the original apparent volume of the wood chip mass and by grinding the compressed wood chip mass, under pressure, with a stone grinder. The wood chips may be treated, before the grinding step, with both or either one of steam and a treating agent, such as sodium monosulfite, sodium disulfite and sodium bicarbonate.
