    摘要: A free movement, arris protection, construction joint has a pair of arris protection members formed complementarily from strips of sheet with a continuous trapezium wave form. A divider one of the members is typically 100 mm deep for a nominal 0.1 m deep slab. The other one is typically 50 mm deep. The members are of steel plate.The wave form is comprised of flanges extending in the length of the joint and of webs angled to the flanges and the length of the joint. The flanges are spaced on opposite sides of a mid-plane of the joint. The members are bolted together with flangible nylon bolts, with their top (in use) edges flush. Welded to the outer ones of the flanges are L strips having apertures in their flats extending from the flanges for anchoring the joint to its slabs.

    摘要: Techniques for protecting joints in pavement structures are disclosed. Such a technique includes applying a hardener/densifier to one or more surfaces that define a joint in a pavement structure and, optionally, to portions of one or more surfaces that are located adjacent to the joint. One or more other compounds, such as hydrophobic materials, water-resistant materials, anti-scaling compounds, anti-wear compounds, multi-functional blended compositions and the like, may also be applied to the surfaces that define a joint and/or to portions of one or more surfaces that are adjacent to the joint. A seal may also be formed in a joint in a pavement structure. Joints that have been protected in accordance with teachings of this disclosure are also disclosed.

The concrete structure is defined by a first edge form section and a generally opposed second edge form section. The joint assembly is characterized by a suspension line extending between the first edge form section and the second edge form section, and a fracture inducing sheath suspended therefrom within the concrete structure. The sheath may define an elongate slit that exposes an internal channel that the suspension line traverses.     摘要: A method of installing mastic joints on a paved surface is described. The method of installing mastic joints may be used as a repair (i.e. erosion of the paved surface at the joint) or in connection with a new installation of the paved surface. The method of installing mastic joints made include installation with joints that have a structure at the joint terminus. The method produces a joint that is resistant to infiltration of water, fuel, and salt, including mixtures thereof. The method further produces a mastic joint that is thermally resistant and produces longevity of use.
