    摘要： A filter sleeve is fabricated from a variety of media selected to preferentially remove particulates and specific contaminants from water or other liquids. The layers of the filter sleeve may be configured to remove 1-micron particulates, while another layer or layers may be configured to remove a range of petroleum hydrocarbons, fats, oils, and greases, while yet another layer may be configured to remove metals, and yet another layer could be configured to remove bacteria, algae, mold, and fungus. Filter sleeves that are configured to remove different particulate sizes and contaminants can be used simultaneously by placing the filter sleeves inside one another to accrue the capabilities of several individual filter sleeves as one unit. The filter sleeve can be used to remove particulates and hydrocarbons from waste water accumulated in underground vaults, enabling such waste water to be discharged directly into the ambient environment.

    摘要： A stormwater inlet near an upper edge of a layered filter media vessel is equipped with a distribution header that ensures effective use of the surface area of the filter media by providing plural spaced streams of stormwater thereat, each at a point of impact having its energy dissipated by a layer of material that covers the upper layered filter media surface. The stormwater inflow is metered to control the stormwater pollutant removal process kinetics, thereby slowing the mean free path of the stormwater therethrough and optimizing pollutant capture. The water level within the vessel is height adjustable manually by a pivot arm in the form of a standing column of water coupled to the water within the container. Weep conduits are provided to slowly drain down the standing water in the system between storm events, simplifying maintenance and promoting best removal of pollutants from first-flush storm events. Stormwater pretreatment, e.g. by use of an oleophilic agent or a pH-buffering agent, is provided. Filter media are easily cleaned, as by scraping and/or adding filter media material when existing material's particulate capture capacity is exhausted.

    摘要： An in-line storm water drain system and a filter basket for a storm water drain system are provided in which the storm water drain system has a housing having an inlet and outlet thereinto and interior walls forming a plurality of chambers therein. The filter basket has a rigid frame and a plurality of screened sides and is attached to the interior walls. The filter basket has a pair of top screen filter doors and a pair of bottom screen filter doors to allow entry into the filter basket and on through to the bottom of the filter basket for cleaning the chambers. An inlet feed chute is attached to the filter basket open end and also has a screen bottom door and directs water from the housing inlet to and through the filter basket while collecting debris in the basket.

    摘要： A floating system for collecting floatable debris is provided with curtains that direct the flow of water that contains floatables into the traps of the system while functioning as a pressure relief mechanism for the system which avoids placing excessive hydraulic forces on the system under extreme flow conditions. Inlet flow confining curtains have means for allowing the curtain to lift from the bottom of the waterbody as flow becomes progressively more extreme. The means may include patterns of weights in a series of normally horizontal pockets that are fabricated into the curtain at various distances below the water level that hang down to the bottom of the waterbody under normal conditions. The weights are graduated with the heaviest at the top and the lightest at the bottom. Alternatively, openings or windows are formed in the curtain and covered with mesh to allow flow through the windows while containing floatables larger than the size of the openings in the mesh. Also, a vertical corner of the curtain may have a triangular-shaped pucker pocket that extends from the surface of the water to the bottom of the curtains, which allows the two curtains to lift.

    摘要： An in-line storm water drain filter and baffle box is installed within a storm water drain pipe to direct storm water runoff through the storm water drain pipe and through the filter and baffle box prior to the storm water drain water passing through an outfall into a lake, pond or retention area. The filter system includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet and a plurality of chambers formed therein. A housing cover allows for access into the housing and a plurality of filter screens are mounted over each of the plurality of housing chambers for collecting trash from the storm water passing therethrough. The housing has a generally arcuate bottom. The filter system also has inlet and outlet cover frames for holding removably mounted blocker dampers for blocking the ingress and egress of storm drain water during cleaning of the filter system. An oil collection boom is removably mounted in the housing adjacent the inlet for collecting oil in the drain water entering the housing inlet. A method of cleaning the storm water drain filter system selects the filter system apparatus and blocks the egress and ingress of drain water while the system is being cleaned.
