摘要: A portable shelter is erectable on a support surface for providing short to long term housing for humans. In general, the shelter includes a foundation, a floor supported by the foundation, and an enclosure. The shelter defines an interior which may be inhabited by a human. The shelter may include front, rear, side, and top walls, all of which may be folded to define inboard and outboard folds which enhance the structural integrity of the walls. The floor of the structure may include indentations corresponding to inboard folds of one or more walls for receiving the inboard folds for enhancing structural integrity of the shelter. The floor may be folded to form upstanding portions adjacent the indentations for securing the inboard folds in the indentations. Moreover, the walls may be folded to define feet which engage the support surface.

摘要: A shelter of the type having collapsed and expanded configurations. In one of several example embodiments, the expanded configuration includes a tunnel-shaped portion forming a pair of opposing side walls and a roof section. The roof section has a peak positioned above the side walls and the tunnel-shaped portion may include opposing ends with a first opening at the first end and a second opening at the second end, each opening capable of accommodating an end wall. A first sheet is foldable along at least first and second crease lines to define the walls and roof section, the walls having an upper separation distance between the first and second crease lines when the shelter is expanded. The first sheet is segmented into panels with pairs of adjoining panels forming pleats each having a vertex extending from a crease line to an adjoining footing flap, the walls having a lower separation distance between footing flaps on different walls when the shelter is expanded. The lower separation distance is greater than the upper separation distance resulting in at least one of the walls being canted with respect to a vertical orientation.

摘要: A building is assembled from an array of rectangular panels where the side edges are connected so that in the array each set of four panels meet at a junction location containing the corners of the panels to form an array of the junction locations. Each building panel is divided along a main axis into two separate triangular panel portions with channel shaped overlapping connecting members which form a beam of double thickness. Each junction location includes an outer cover cap portion on an outside surface covering the junction location with female channel shaped recesses receiving the marginal edges of the panels at the corner and a central recess receiving the beam. A corresponding male shaped inner cap is located under the junction and clamps to the outer cap to form a seal over the corner location.

摘要: An essentially rectangular, flat, foldable building structural panel has a series of horizontal and oblique flexible joints made of silicone rubber impregnated fabric located on the inside of the panel. The horizontal and flexible joints create a series of geometric triangles that can be formed and folded into multiple configurations. The geometric configurations are composed of rigid triangular facet sections and flexible joints between adjacent edges of the triangular facet sections. Alternating the direction of the folds allows the user to create a three-dimensional freestanding structure of various dimensions and geometric configurations. Poles can be included for the purpose of raising the structure to produce a canopy. Since the triangular facets are rigid and the joints between the edges of the facets are flexible, quick erection of the structure may be accomplished. The structure is fastened to the ground by use of ground grommets and stakes. The panel consists of laminations of various fabrics, adhesives and triangular panel facets with fasteners and loops for stiffing rods and tension lines.

摘要: A folding dome-like modular building structure composed of 48 flexibly interconnected equal right isosceles triangles. Each building structure is formed from a series of four flexibly connected modules of 12 triangles each. The modules are connected in alternating right and left-handed mirror image sequence. Each triangle may be a rigid panel or an open space enclosed by struts or panel edges. The structure may be formed in part from struts and in part from panels. It may be an open or partially open framework or it may be enclosed by fabric or film supported over or suspended from the framework.
